Memorial Day is about military service members who are no longer living. It's not about those who are currently alive hence the word memorial, as in "memory." Troop worship really irritates me. I'm in, btw in case anyone wants to say anything.

By your post im guessing youre junior enlisted. Probably Army, E2 or E3 on your first enlistment. Why troll some civilians post, even if he may be uninformed no need to troll.

Not trolling. Trolling is saying something just to get a rise out of someone. Informing. Guess the rank all you want. There are many across all ranks and specialties that feel this way. I have the freedom of speech to say whatever I choose.

My daily life is possible because of the service that has been provided.

Maybe from the service in the World Wars and a few other ones, but the current conflicts? Haha. No. I assure you that not much is being done to directly help anyone at all besides helping politicians and their benefactors get rich.

Haha. Grateful for what and to whom? I appreciate some but definitely not this new organization that is more interested in deploying and getting a patch instead of if that's even necessary or not. Sounds like you've already taken the pill.

Hey buddy, he was thanking our soldiers who took an oath to protect this country, may it be in times of need or not. It's a courageous thing to do and an immense amount of responsibility. If you don't want his gratitude, then move the hell on. On this day we thank our soldiers. On Mother's Day we thank our moms. Do you go ranting about how not all mothers deserve thanks on that day too? Grow up

As long as you don't believe everything and you don't act like some mindless drone then I can respect that. You said the officer route. Good luck and make sure to treat everyone under you with dignity. Too many people piss all over their subordinates. Good luck.
