High calibre rounds won't affect pve in the slightest. It will have 0 affect on the pve side of things.
Mida will still rock.
Most of the changes will only affect pvp side of stuff.

Don't they cause targets to stagger?
-
Test it. Take a Mida into a high level strike and shoot at tougher yellow bars and tell me. The difference is negligible. Pvp is where the change will be slightly more noticeable. But not as much as people are whining about......
-
I honestly don't care about PvP. I hardly play it.
-
I don't really use Mida in pve. It's always been a multiplayer weapon. My salvation state and hung jury worked fine for strikes and pve!
-
HCR is primarily a PvE perk. It staggers enemies much easier with it so you can shoot an ogre and actually stagger it (something that is impossible to do with a normal scout). What your falling to understand is this perk was given to Mida for free without taking a perk slot. Now the only thing exotic about this gun is the increased movement speed. In year one this was my single most used exotic by over 2000 kills because of how solid it was in pve. Now I'm not sure I will even like to have it in my inventory.
-
It really makes hardly any difference and people are whining before the changes have even dropped. Everyone is having this insane moan at something that hasn't even happened yet. Agility is infinitely better anyway - pve and pvp wise. There are videos on YouTube / reddit that show that high calibre rounds do virtuality fck all anyway.
-
It does virtually nothing in pvp but makes a good difference in pve. I have used weapons with and without the perk active and noticed a instant difference. I believe datto posted an early video breaking down how effective it was and it may have been slight but that's all you need for that edge.
-
Well, that's your right, but I DO use Mida. And it will be affected by the removal of HCR.
-
Agreed. I will admit that the HCR could be considered unfair in Crucible... I guess. But if the removal of HCR effects MIDA in PvE, well, they may have lost a Guardian on that count. MIDA has been my favorite weapon for quite a while, and not just since that jump in December.
-
How so - when pve enemies flinch when scoped in on your face? Extra agility is a massively better perk anyway. Pve and pvp wise. People are going nuts over the smallest changes.
-
Please, please don't take this as me being argumentative. I'm legitimately just curious: How much do you use MIDA, and if you use it regularly for anything, when did you start using it?
-
Year one when it wasn't even considered an exotic. When I was still using agility over anything else......
-
Alright, well I was just curious. I honestly don't mean to be argumentative here, but your comments came across as though they were being spoken by someone who'd used it maybe a handful of times. (I only say as much because MIDA is my go-to unless I need another Exotic slot, or something else is situationally better.) Please, please don't take that wrong way. I really was only curious. ;)
-
Yeah it's just people are whining over the dumbest of stuff right now. The patch hasn't even been released and people are cursing each other out over the Mida. It's fcking hilarious that this was argued over in year one whether it should even be exotic.
-
Yeah. The folks who are cheering in favor of MIDA's nerf... I don't see them as particularly... level-headed. Those are probably the same folks who said it shouldn't be an Exotic back in Y1. Now they're getting killed by it, so "hurrah, nerf!"
-
I will give you a prediction from the very near future. They will still continue to die to the Mida and continue to suck regardless. It makes me laugh how the Mida hasn't changed from year one and people now moan about how "op" it is. Bungie are scrubs by nerfing all the guns classes.
-
*THAT* I can agree with. ;)
-
Well, I don't consider myself going nuts about it, but it's just overall disappointing. I hope it's fun and has lots of playability. We'll see.
-
Removing stagger makes mida useless in both modes :( may as well put a leg scout in that slot
-
Useless? The gun is a beast and has ALWAYS been beast. I have NEVER used high caliber rounds since the day I unlocked it. Agility boost is so op. Add a specific set of exotic boots - away you go. The correct use of a Mida......
-
Agreed. Might as well grab a Hung Jury from Dead Orbit.
-
I would, but I can't stand Omolon scouts. I feel like they take up too much of the screen, like half my peripheral vision has been completely cut away. XD
-
I thought I was the only one who thought that! Everyone else I've spoken to doesn't seem to have a problem with them.
-
Same here! *high five* Good to meet someone else who likes their entire HUD! XD
-
Might I then suggest a Suros scout from Banshee? They quite often have very nice rolls when recieved.
