Not true on the days being millions or billions of years. The bible says a day to God is a thousand years.
Science and religion of every kind have existed hand in hand since their founding. Its only recently that things seem to be mutually exclusive. Islam created algebra, Christianity was at the forefront of chemistry and biology, and Buddhism both in China and India helped push forth the idea of modern medicine practices. Those are only a few examples of the many things that religion has contributed to the sciences.
Science and religion are not exclusive. A more modern example is the lunar lander. The leg design that can hold massive weight while being light came from Eziekal's passage on "wheels within wheels" that Eziekal saw from God.
Idk how science and religion became so separated but in the past they werent at all.

I had never seen the passage where it talks about a day for God being a thousand years. I had always been taught that God was outside normal space and time
