Not really here to agree or disagree here but I think it's a bit disingenuous to argue with using the worst case scenario via bottom dollar's drop. Have you done the math that proves all other new playlist specific weapons have that low of a drop rate as well?
Also while yes it's pretty effed up that bottom dollar is that hard to get I think the bigger problem with Gambit atm is how bad the new aeon gloves screw up heavy ammo economy for the mode.

So I think what you're saying is pretty fair. First, regarding the other guns- I think the odds are similar. But it depends on how many perks are in each column. I'm less annoyed about the specific odds of one single roll I want, and more using the number to prove a point- that we need a better system of grinding with sunsetting present. Like the solutions I outlined at the end. But even if 1/9073 is a little extreme look at it this way- even if you just pick the last 2 perks (like rapid hit rampage) and you're ok with literally anything in the masterwork and first 2 slots... That's still a 1/144 chance. And with them dropping rarely (let's say it's a 1/10 drop chance, even though I think it's way way lower than that), that's still terrible odds that you'll get that before it's significantly closer to being sunset. My point is more that this system doesn't work with the way the game is currently set up.

Not going to lie it made my day that this was a genuine conversation. 👏

Also just wanted to give props for actually looking at how to make looting and chasing loot more ideal post sunsetting than simply complaining about sunsetting and asking for it to be reverted. Not enough people think like this. So thank you.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Yeah I love the game and I want to see it succeed. Any time I want to complain I try to make an effort to see what a solution would look like, to be productive. Sometimes I fail haha! But I try

I definitely agree that we need more streamlined ways to get specific rolls and gear in general. Bungie is off to a decent start with umbral engrams and some targeted loot farms. But until a system exists that lets us change any roll we get instead of only with specific systems in specific farms it's going to feel awful.
-
I also think this season in general is off in an overall good direction. Umbrals can be a good system for the game as a whole. There are definitely tweaks but yeah it's promising. I just hope they start to fix some of the blatant and obvious problems sooner rather than later.

Same. I'm really hoping they finally do a loot revamp soon. Not sure if you saw the video from Kujay? where he suggests how to do it. I agree with a lot of what's said in it. But I think it's an easy situation that allows bloat. Which we're trying to keep in mind since the devs are making an active effort to have a smaller loot pool to worry about. That and I hope light as a mechanic gets addressed. But I don't think that's realistic.

I haven't seen that video yet but it has appeared in my suggestions. I'll have to check it out!

It's definitely worth a look at the very least as ideas on how to make loot more attractive.

I'll check it out today! Thanks!
