Last 30 days you lost 60,837 players. why dont ya'll actually listen to ur customers for once? we pay hundreds of dollars to for the game for us to play. ya'll made changes that ruined the game that literally no one ask for it . -5 on all raids & dungeons . pathfinder with no freedom on objective we wanted to do . more ability spam on pvp . increasing cost for season pass from 1000 to 1200 & now to 1500 . make everything took significantly longer to complete & put health gated bosses ya'll so good to ruined it

  • Oh and advertised exotic class items that a huge percentage of the player base cant get. I wonder how many of the players that left were titans? Lets make seasonal content and campaign bosses so hard people rage quit and delete our game. Congratulations fanboys you won. This is the result of devs listening to the trolls on here: Get good scrub and the always famous sounds like a skill issue.

    • The difficulty increase in lightfall, the -5 and the severe lack of pinnacle rewards for solo players is what killed it for me. I'm not a S tier player I can admit that probably not even an A tier player. So I used to slowly grind away my power level at my own pace to the point I was over leveled when I went into raids or dungeons, that way I wasn't as big of a detriment to my team. The reason I did this is because you can watch as many videos/guides as you want for an activity but until you have experienced it you really don't know it. Being over leveled gave me a crutch/cushion to learn the activity. Once I had learned the mechanics and call outs I was fine, many players I used to play with have left the game for these exact reasons It's really a shame that the game is only now cater to the elite players now where I used to feel like d1-d2 used to offer a stepping stone type difficulty spike for players like myself

      • Too much of the game has been made inaccessible to the casual player. It was bound to happen eventually. If you listen to a vocal (yet loud) minority you will of course win plaudits and accolades. However you risk alienating a very large chunk of your player base who jump on in the evenings after a full (and at times stressful) day at work. L The casual has become somewhat of a dirty word on this forum but whatever your thoughts maybe about it this game simply needs numbers to function properly. I have 4000 hours in destiny which probably look like rookie numbers to some of you that do little else but play this game 24/7. But myself and many others in the same boat have now completed the excellent campaign and have come to the realisation that the promise of acts has turned out to be yet more of the same. I would have always completed the seasonal story but now I really just can’t face logging on and the more time that passes the easier that is to do. As they have admitted they have clearly spread themselves to thin rather than focusing on their base. I am very sad to hear of all the talent that has now suffered as a result. Some accountability surely needs to reside with upper management but I don’t see anyone falling on their swords… If I were them I would put all my effort into making Marathon a fresh and thrilling experience as at present I and many others have little reason to return to a 10 year old title that is really starting to show its age now when you look at Nexons glossy coated alternative.

For me the down fall of this game started with sunsetting, play bungie’s way, and constant nerfs to fun builds, and the introduction of the DCV. Sunsetting basically showed they have no respect for players time investment. Then they reverse the sunsetting years after they advised us we could safely delete them. I don’t care about how everything has been power crept. Removing content, cycling it back to us, and focusing more so on the seasonal content rather than core stuff is what slowly killed the game for me. I don’t care what the reasons are, removing content we paid for is a middle finger to the customer. Play bungie’s way has been a constant pain point for me and lots of other players. Constant nerfs done to fun builds gives less options for build crafting and worse part is we have no say in anything because it’s bungie’s game not ours at the end of the day.

bungie increased difficulty in many ways across the board. this was great for the top 10% . but the reality hit them square in the face when they woke up. it's unfortunate that so many had to lose their job over it. the rest of the BS they tell you is just that BS. they never listened to the community and had tunnel vision on for the streamers . And ultimately shot there own foot off including the streamers foot.

            • We tried..God knows we've all tried for years to give them suggestions. But unless we're the streamers that stream daily and talk the game up for gifts, we're invisible to them and don't matter. The "we've heard you loud and clear" & "Great things are ahead and we're excited for this" speeches are void and no longer have value to the every day average player. They broke our trust, took half of a game we paid for, and did it with a smile on their face

            • Congratulations on your post. I've only read true feelings, which Bungie has been ignoring for years. Endgame is boring, difficulty unbalanced (if we can call it difficulty, they are tiring activities), long and uninteresting missions. And the lore, then. I didn't see anything that was shocking, just silly, out-of-context novels of what's being discussed "Oh! You say you love me is more important than saving the universe!" and this situation comes up more than once. Well, that's your 10-year gift from the franchise, Bungie, mass abandonment. I finished Act 2 yesterday and definitely uninstalled Destiny 2. I'll come back when they change direction (maybe).

I loved raiding but they ruined it. They listened to streamers who wanted a super hard raid to make their little guide videos and made the raid so time consuming and challenging, no one is running it but the rank 11 toxic sweats. I was looking for a normal group that wasn't a "master challenge" one last night for two hours and when I did find one, it was still those toxic elitists that started whining and rage quitting after one wipe. Raiding used to be fun but they ruined it to appease the streamers and now 80% of the population is gone. Absolutely 0 sympathy for the devs who made those decisions.

              • It was almost like they did a statistical analysis on any “fun” activities or meta weapons and just proceeded to suck the fun right out of all of it. Dungeons and lost sectors are a chore now. Meta weapons are meta for a brief moment and then they are not yet, it’s weighted towards the meta loadouts to complete the activities. Somewhere in this journey PvE went from fun to tedious. PvP suffers from the lobby balancing issues that I can only imagine come from a lower player population. I fear Sony won’t be good for the game. They’ll throw some up and coming manager/director on this in the efforts to make the game more profitable. The IP and profits will be siphoned off for bigger Sony goals. This round of layoffs is just the beginnings unless miraculously they just blow up their revenue. I’d bet that’s why layoffs occurred; they projected larger sales numbers they didn’t achieve and poof….it’s a math equation for who they layoff and try to salvage profitability. It’s what happens when you go from an indie company over to a publicly traded giant like Sony. Each division is responsible to achieve their numbers and if they don’t….boxes come out and people get walked on a quarterly basis. As for the CEO…they always win….most of the time. That’s a pre-negotiated settlement and golden parachute that he had prior to anything tanking. He’ll walk away richer and move on to negotiate the next company success or failure. If Bungie doesn’t find its identity, Sony will suck it dry and discard them. Sony is a $85B in annual revenue….Bungie is $0.5B annual. The math problem doesn’t bode well for Bungie. Yoshida will take the small uptick in revenue for the year and call it a success. A lot of what is said here is true for the player base. They turned away from the things that made the game successful and on to other things….not sure why….

Remember “Destiny” had less content but it was driven by Grimoire cards & lure books. Now “Destiny 2” has more content but the Story is total mess…sunset gear, removed original story (old raids & location like planets) & seasonal content -_-. I felt I was happy back then with less content than I do now.

It wasn't just a couple things . this goes way deeper. inflated difficulty when it's just not necessary for many of what used to be fun activity's. This was many people's doing and they made the game feel like everything you is sweat shop. then you have the complete disaster in pvp. from ammo to game play to match making. then the nerfs. everything got really messed up. hopefully now after cleaning house.they can get back to rebuilding the game back with more fun as the driving force. but yeah 100's were involved in this train wreck.

The seasonal story is insufferable. Cheating in pvp is on another level. The matchmaking in PvP is awful. The server lag in PvP is awful. The list is endless. Just keeps going.

                    • Ability spam is why majority of the people play the game...for the space magic. If you want another generic shooter, that is an actual competitive e sport, then call of duty is right there...coming out with a new game and everything.

Players came back to see the finale and left afterward. If they had opened up the old content to everyone, those players may have stayed on and brought their friends with them.

                      • It's quite funny - I invested too much money in a game that tries to find the balance between satisfaction and dissatisfaction. It often feels very unbalanced, you have to do too much micromanagement. But it's also strange that the co-op game tries to bring out the single player in you - travelling alone in Pale Heart, or at most in a party of three, with the other guys off somewhere. It feels so disconnected. I perceive the game as an offline game and that explains why so many players drop. The story is over and that's it. Yes, I'm not interested in the sappy story of Osiris and Saint. I don't like it. So - login to visit the Eververse and see what you get "for free" and play a mission. Thats it. Bungie has already achieved something - 10 years of Destiny. That's quite an achievement. But it's tiring on the other side.

I’ll add my 2 cent here. I used to be a raider, did all the end game content and such. Nowadays though, I play destiny pretty casually. I like doing the seasonal stuff and I like mindlessly running the strike playlist. Personally, I feel like difficulty has been overtuned. I believe the difficulty ceiling should increase, not the difficulty floor. Casual content like the strike playlist has become a slog to play through, which ultimately just demotivates me to play the game. All of this difficulty for what? The game is not any more rewarding than it was before. I really felt like the acts after the final shape were a key part in maintaining players after the release. For me, the acts have fallen pretty flat. I really enjoyed the story beat of TFS, but immediately jumping into act 1 felt a bit jarring. There didn’t feel like enough of a build up for a vex season, it feels like we are just jumping back into seasonal content where every few months we get content themed after another enemy. Just after the conclusion of a 10 year story, quite frankly I’m just not interested in the vex which have more or less been neglected for a while. Same can be said for exploring Nessus or having another Saint and Osiris season again. I wish the acts followed through on the witness/parts of the witness, perhaps more about the dread, or something more directly related to the traveler/pale heart. I really enjoyed TFS. I still enjoy destiny. At the moment though, I don’t feel like the game gives me a reason to actively play. Personally my time has been taken away by no many sky lately.

                        • They lost one million in the first week of Final Shape and on top of that with the lay offs, they laid off their Narrative designer and lead so at this point, I don't think Destiny is going to have a story anymore. Especially since
this season is going to end in a cliff hanger where we don't even get what we were suppose to be doing all this for, that being the Echo of Command because the Conductor just runs off at the end.
