The difficulty increase in lightfall, the -5 and the severe lack of pinnacle rewards for solo players is what killed it for me. I'm not a S tier player I can admit that probably not even an A tier player. So I used to slowly grind away my power level at my own pace to the point I was over leveled when I went into raids or dungeons, that way I wasn't as big of a detriment to my team. The reason I did this is because you can watch as many videos/guides as you want for an activity but until you have experienced it you really don't know it. Being over leveled gave me a crutch/cushion to learn the activity. Once I had learned the mechanics and call outs I was fine, many players I used to play with have left the game for these exact reasons It's really a shame that the game is only now cater to the elite players now where I used to feel like d1-d2 used to offer a stepping stone type difficulty spike for players like myself

 • I am so happy I am seeing so many reasonable replies. I am not a tryhard elitist, I also liked to overlevel and then try the raid with some buddies and have a laugh whenever they had some time. I tried this new one but it is so ridiculously convoluted and challenging, not to mention the only people playing are the Godslayer elitists who will start huffing and puffing if you miss one symbol. I don't play games to spike my anxiety. I'm out. I hope Bungie are happy with -80% population after less than two months.

 • I had to cheese final lightfall mission, or I wouldn't have ever completed the mission

 • One thing I will never understand is the complaint about -5. I feel absolutely 0 difference between -5 and -0. If it were -15 , then I could understand the frustration.

 •
The difficulty increase in lightfall, the -5 and the severe lack of pinnacle rewards for solo players is what killed it for me.
Prismatic Hunter and Warlock are the most busted subclasses we ever had and make even Master Raids trivial. Also exactly 50% (10) of the pinnacle drops are available for solo players. It's increases to 70% (14) if you count in dungeons which are doable via lfg without a mic.
It's really a shame that the game is only now cater to the elite players now where I used to feel like d1-d2 used to offer a stepping stone type difficulty spike for players like myself
I'd definitely say that most of my clan is in the top 5% of players. But the game definitely is far away from being catered towards us. The only thing that bungie actually did was making a raid thats a bit more challenging. But apart from that the game is very much catering towards casual players regarding DLC and especially seasonal content.

 • Please don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about elite players, power to them, I wish I was as good as them and they deserve the rewards that go along with completing some of the most difficult content in the game. I'm only giving my opinion from my perspective on the difficulty ( that of a semi casual player) and in particular the progression of difficulty that has changed. Subclasses/builds aside the game has changed a lot for players like myself. Maybe destiny just isn't the game for me and players like me anymore and that's fine, it's just a shame is all I'm saying.
