I want to see where people are at with the seasonal model. You still enjoying it? I can see some people prefering it over a substantial content drop annually, but why do you prefer it? What do you think about having a starcraft: brood wars or warcraft 3: frozen throne style expansion with solid changes to shake up the sandbox, and minimizing free to play so core playlists get updated as well?

I want to see a little more of how the new episode format is going to play out but I personally could go either way. Its more what everyone else would want to play when it comes to that and I don't really mind having the gaps in between content drops that the game has now vs. the every single week thing of the seasonal model. It makes the game seem less "hamster wheel" and the playerbase less rabid for something new every single week, then mad when its not up to their "standards." Right now it seems to be basically in between the seasonal model and yearly large content drops. Yearly content might be better, but there's really no way to tell unless they try it and it would probably mean there was less people playing consistently which is another one of those things that is really up to Bungie as far as whether or not that's what they want. If they were going to put something out that was basically Final Shape size and the ritual modes would substantially evolve then it might be better to go with yearly content drops. I guess it would also depend on how much of the playerbase ends up sticking around or coming back for each episode but no one really knows how that's going to work until we get deeper into this year.

Taken King was so great because they had a year to make stuff , and we went longer without new content so we appreciated it more Now we are spoiled and demand new content every week!!!!! -
10 RepliesIdk i like the amount of loot and armor we get from the seasonal model. At least theres something to do. The content draughts of d1 were rough. I feel like d2 players aren't quite as resilient as d1 players were. Id be worried about even worse player drop off. But the storylines we get in the seasonal models, the weird animated comic style cutscenes etc... Feel lackluster and cheap. The seasonal activities have never provided a huge amount of fun for me either. Some were. I liked the one in season of the haunted on the levitation. The ship one in the pirate season was fun too. Otherwise i havent been a fan. Im not sure theres a good answer

1 ReplyI liked D1 better in about every way but hey I am not a content creator

Seasonal model with some changes. Specifically removing the drip-fed story which we are getting next episode. /season... they are both the same thing Just one big expansion drop lead to huge droughts. I'd rather not go back to that.

How about meaningful content drops multiple times a year that don't disappear the next year.

1 ReplyI didn't vote, voting is dumb. But .... I dunno why we can't have both. Certainly seems like we pay for it.

I think the question actually goes to Bungie. > Where are you least likely to underdeliver and most likely to innovate, dedicate, commit... Player-base will follow that product with any rollout model -
3 RepliesI chose "substantial annual content" because I feel that would allow for higher quality since Bungie wouldn't need to rush things out within a restrictive timetable but given the lack of patience demonstrated by some in the community, that doesn't seem plausible. I can deal with the "seasonal model" too, though.
