Idk i like the amount of loot and armor we get from the seasonal model. At least theres something to do. The content draughts of d1 were rough. I feel like d2 players aren't quite as resilient as d1 players were. Id be worried about even worse player drop off.
But the storylines we get in the seasonal models, the weird animated comic style cutscenes etc... Feel lackluster and cheap. The seasonal activities have never provided a huge amount of fun for me either. Some were. I liked the one in season of the haunted on the levitation. The ship one in the pirate season was fun too. Otherwise i havent been a fan. Im not sure theres a good answer

I am kind of partial to droughts. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing as it could help revitalize the playerbase and maybe try out different games. And if they still have cosmetics for sale, maybe people would be more inclined to spend money because of the bump in quality of the game? Just kind of spit-balling. But I also get the concept of the longer a user plays and stays logged in, the higher probability of the user to spend money so I guess its just a matter of finding a sweet spot

You don't care for the art style used in the cinematics?
-
No, not really. Its better than nothing but i prefer fully 3d cutscenes. I remember seeing my first cutscenes on PlayStation and being blown away that my games looked like movies instead of animated sprites wiggling about.

Fair enough, I really dig it personally. I can't say for sure, but I believe the first game I played on PS1 was 'Metal Gear Solid' and let me tell you, mind blown when I saw those cut-scenes. And I won't get started on the battle with Psycho Mantis..........🤯

Yeah i dont like to complain too loudly about it. I like getting cutscenes to go with the story. Maybe i was a little too harsh saying theyre cheap. For the amount we get, theyre nice to have in the game. I never had mgs but my cousin did and i would go over to his house to play it. It was an amazing game. I shouldve kept up with the series. Ill never forget crawling around in the cardboard box to take out guards.

Edited by jmann43b: 7/19/2024 2:14:55 AMI'm pretty sure the last game in the series I played to the end was Guns of the Patriots. I have The Phantom Pain from when it was free from PS Plus but just haven't really taken the time to get into it very far. It was definitely a great series.

Phantom pain was fun, I liked it a lot. Might have to revisit it soon.

It's one of quite a few games in my library I've yet to finish, one of these days I'll get around to them. I blame PS Plus and their stupid free games, lol.

Having options is a nice thing.

Edited by jmann43b: 7/19/2024 10:00:25 PMTrue, but sometimes too many options can lead to indecisiveness. "Do I play this one, or that one? Oh, and what about this? Then of course there's...............you know what? Screw it, I'm watching reruns of 'Beverly Hillbillies.'" It can happen, you know. 😂
