Let console players choose matchmaking region
To put it simply, a vast majority of UK players, including “Unbrokens” have horrid internet. If I match with Americans? Its less laggy.
I’d like to be able to play solo without feeling like 90% of opponents live in McDonalds especially since reports do nothing
Edit: I’m a UK player, I’m pointing out that matching Americans gives me better matchmaking with less lag when it should be the other way round.

1 ReplyIt's not cause they have awful internet it's because the servers are peer 2 peer. It's also the reason why skill based match making should never be a thing. Why peer 2 peer is still a thing I don't know... I thought it died in the early 2000's

I live in the US. It's absolutely insane how many games I match against South Americans. NOBODY wants to play with or especially against those people they lag so goddamn bad!

it's P2P; just use your router or VPN. You can already manipulate your region...

If I'm in the US, why am I even matching with Germans, Australians, and Chileans in the same game at all? Sbmm doesn't exist (it doesn't, deal with it), and surely there are more stable connections within my continent on my side of the planet. I shouldn't even be matching with Canadians. So which is it Bungie? Is your crucible just [i][u][b]that oversaturated[/b][/u][/i] with cheaters who manipulate my network (a felony crime in the US btw), or is your matchmaking system broken like we've been trying to tell you for the past 5 years? Pick one of these only two possibilities.

Switch your account to PC. Choose your Region, match with nubs, case closed. On console you need some 3rd party software which violates Terms of Service. This is how Youtube streamers have been doing it to get pvp pinnacle weapons.

2 RepliesWhile i agree, this wouldn’t solve the issue of people intentionally partying up with players who don’t live in the same region, people using a VPN to switch their location from what it really is, or intentionally playing on a different region like some do on PC. The netcode is too forgiving (or even rewarding) for high pings, that also needs to change in addition to adding region lock.

So true, that's how you get Unbroken and other Crucible achievements. It's not about skill at all, it's about who has the worse connection who wins the fights

it should be " the other way around" as you said. the lag needs to be fixed some how. at least herded into a lag group to play eachother, maybe then they will feel what we do. picture the match timing out with most bullets ever making contact and no kills registering untill just at the finish of the match.

6 RepliesIt's not horrid internet you complete fool. It's distance. I'm UK, fibre wired 100 up 50 down, EVERY other shooter runs perfectly for me. Destiny, for 5 years straight, matches me with Russia, Japan, Brazil, Kuwait, you get the drift. I'm playing people with over 1000 ping, finally had enough n just stopped playing. It'll never change, so I did. I suggest you do too, because nothings changing

Game needs region locking for all activities. Selecting servers is going to cause a massive problem especially on PC. But if they region lock it thatll save everyone major headaches and make crucible worth attempting to fix

As someone who lives in the uk and plays late I agree I don’t like lagging because i see people use it to there advantage and I’m sat here like how tf do you do it so i normally go on another game like borderlands or something
