Whisper of the worm
This gun went from being amazing to absolute trash. It needs to go back to the way it was or be moved to the special weapon slot to make it viable again. Currently this gun gets zero use from anybody.

The only thing they should have done to the weapon was bring it's opponents up to par. Enemies with hard to hit crit spots or highly moving bosses. Other weapons would instantly have become more attractive.

I think it's hilarious bc when it dropped they literally emphasized that it was the way black hammer was, and then they change their mind and make it spindle. I still think the gun is good tho

7 RepliesWhat if they made it so 1 bullet regenerates from nothing, and 2 are pulled from magazine. Then you still get bonus ammo, but not infinite.

It was hard to get in the beginning (until shortcut was found) and it deserves to be restored to her former glory. I was as happy when I got it as I was when I got my first gjallarhorn. I’ve been saying this for years, bungie hates when people are having fun. They always have to destroy it. It’s who they are...

The gun served its purpose for a few seasons. It got people playing the game and it sold a couple ornaments. Bungie decided it was time to put it to rest, and that's what they did. I will never accept Bungie's reasoning for having to nerf it. They learned this lesson in D1 already. Or so we thought.

7 RepliesBungie likes to dictate what you use vice letting the players dictate what they like to use. It’s why the “fun” has been taking out of Destiny. A PVE weapon like the Whisper was fun to use and never hurt another guardian it just brought fun to a boss fight where heavy is hard to come by since they didn’t bring another fun item called ammo synthesis over from D1. There is no fun in scrounging around for heavy bricks or having to save your heavy for the boss fight in a looter shooter game...shooting stuff, blowing it up or melting bosses like with The Ghally is what made the game fun...knowing you grinded your ass off for the secrete weapon that others are craving is what made the game fun....period.

3 RepliesIm more concerned about lmgs in pvp and gambit. Things have no damage fall off.. pinpoint accuracy.. range of a sniper and magazine higher than an auto rifle.

Bungie reminds me politicians, constantly saying one thing ("we want to stop nerfing things and bring things up instead"), and doing another thing (*nerfs Whisper into the Earth's core*) It's pathetic honestly. *EDIT* In my opinion, they should have kept the perk and lowered the dps from the gun. The whole point of something being *EXOTIC* is that it is *UNIQUE* and they just took its uniqueness away....

The fact is bungie got players to grind for it and pay for its ornament. Just like in D1, it changed three. Times and went through the exact same nerf cycle. Do I really need to finish my thought?

I'd like to see it moved to the energy slot. I don't think returning it to what it was will be a smart idea, but throwing it into the energy slot will make it MUCH more viable without making it broken. Damage numbers obviously tuned to match special ammo economy.

2 RepliesIt all comes down to game/boss design. D1 and D2 had the same problem. Both you and the boss stand still and you DPS. That's why Gally was so good in almost every situation. [b][i][u]EXCEPT[/u][/i][/b] for the Oryx fight. The Oryx fight had a different enough design that using Gally on him was just silly. We don't see that in D2. Correct me if I'm wrong but every fight in D2 is "everyone stands still and DPSs". Whisper took advantage of that which is why it was so overused. Whisper of the Worm was never the problem, it was Bungie's lazy boss design.
