Catalyst Talk
To those who think moving the Sleeper Simulant Catalyst drop to Escalation Protocol and the Telesto Catalyst drop to Heroic Adventures and/or Strikes from Mercury would make a lot of sense, please raise your hand!

1 ReplyLet's ease up on the hate guys. What I'm proposing I'm hoping isn't to game breaking. Think about Whisper. When that came out, I instantly started grinding for it. I managed to get it and the catalyst complete before Bungle made the quest available every day. And when Izanagi was became available, I grinded out the quest line grateful of the help from friends. I'm very much looking forward to grinding for the catalyst. Some things Bungie keeps the challenge and some things they make a little easier. I was there during faction rallies and grinded out all the catalysts. For those who didn't or couldn't get them I'm glad they made them available in other ways for old and new players. I'm eagerly awaiting the other catalysts to come but for the old ones that can be difficult to acquire, I'm hoping will too be made a little more easier to get in a non-game breaking way.

Non-raid weapons should never had catalysts drop in raids. That makes no sense. But I think a lengthy quest to work towards certain catalysts would help with the abysmal drop rate of some of them. Also, Mida should not be in comp.

If they put telesto in blind well or ascendant challenges, or maybe those weekly story missions on dreaming city, that’d be great. Sleeper in escalation protocol would make sense, as well... or make them come from those usless nodes things you have to open to get rid of...

2 RepliesYeah makes sense to me to move these two. Also can we get some more weapon catalysts? Like i'd love to masterwork my Thorn and Malfeasance but there's no catalysts for them yet. Actually it'd be nice to just have the catalysts released at the same time as the weapons going forward.

I agree, the Sleeper Simulant should be moved to a random drop from the final bosses from Escalation Protocol, hell, make the drop rate less than the Ikelos weapons if you have to, I'll grind it all week long, I love EP, but just move the catalyst there. I mean hell, Sleeper came from a Mars quest. It should be tied to Mars. And for the people who are going to say just do the raid. I'm getting there. I raid with my clan whenever we get the chance. We are some fantastic raiders like a lot of people. We help each other out and spend time in raids, not always completing them as we cycle people in and out as a lot of us have obligations outside of the game, so we get things done whenever we can. We'll eventually move on to that raid lol. My point still stands. Move the Sleeper catalyst to Mars.

Edited by XguyExtra: 6/25/2019 4:04:33 PMI'm assuming Bungie is not gonna change this, they haven't done it in a year so I'll just give you some advice. Getting to the first two chests in EoW is easy (You can actually solo it if you go out of bounds but that's more difficult) and so is everything you run in Spire of Stars before the observatory. Ask other people in your clan that still want these catalysts or are willing to help and just grind them out on all three characters every week. You don't have to beat the boss, you'll be able to get the catalysts.

3 RepliesCould would also agree to change the sweet business catalyst to be a 999 round drum? As it stands there is nothing about extra flinch resistance that says serious, a 999 round mag that lets me fire whilst patiently walking around corners however that's screams not to be -blam!-ed with.

I dont mind the grind for yhe catalyst, but upgrading it is a pain in ass...
