I’d say it depends heavily on the state. Different states, different laws, different demographics, etc...

2 RepliesGood nation just needs to be fixed

7 RepliesWe are a great nation, but we are also a nation in decline. In part because other nations are recovering from the catastrophes what were the World War II and The Cold War, and are closing the gap. In part because we arrogantly over-extended the reach of our true power in other parts of the world...and are running up the kind of debt that eventually did in the British Empire. Lastly----like the Roman Empire during its decline----we've stopped acting like a nation, and have behave like a collection of individuals. More invested in domestic power struggles while ignoring what happening to the nation as a whole. So our wealthy loot the nation of its riches, while demanding tax cuts that starve the nation of the public resources it needs. While the middle-class and working-class are lost in ethnic and cultural squabbles over an ever smaller collection of crumbs that fall from the table of the top 0.1% Like the Roman Empire, this will eventually end us as a world power. Whether it will happen in my lifetime? Don't know. But until we stop this internecine fighting and strip mining the nation of its wealth for private game....our fall is inevitable. Not if....just when...and how far.

4 RepliesOf course the US is great. What other country puts human rights above the government?
-
1 ReplyIt's okay. We just need to be less obese and be encouraged to go through some form of higher education, even community college.
-
I find it telling how when you ask certain people a question like this, they won’t answer with great things about the US, they’ll answer with terrible things about other countries. Yes, NK has no freedom of speech. Yes, Venezuela is a terrible example of democracy. But why does that automatically make the US so great? Should I get praise simply for stabbing a fewer number of people than somebody else? If you want to say that the US is great, talk about the US. Talk about the amount of aid it gives to impoverished countries every year, and the tangible impact that has had. Talk about the rights it gives its citizens and the successes and advances that have come from giving people those rights.

1 ReplyI mean, it's not bad, but there's a lot of things we have to work on.
-
4 RepliesI've always wondered - maybe the reason Americans don't like Canada is because they know it's objectively better on average.
-
8 RepliesYes. Comparatively, to the rest of the world it is a great nation. Is it the best? No. There are many aspects of other societies that do things better than America. Am I glad I live here? Sure. Would I probably be happier elsewhere? Most likely.
-
It use to be. These days the focus on social issues has made it more about the individual rather then the state. It's led to a rapid decline in quality.

11 RepliesNo but Britain is.
-
5 RepliesNo. Never has been
-
1 ReplyNot in the slightest. The only way it’ll be great is if we get another president like FDR. Not someone like Dumbass-dictator-Wannabe Trump
-
4 RepliesAmericans are annoying as hell
-
3 RepliesSuperficially, yes. However, an inexorable decline is well under way. With five generations, the rest of the world will be carving up the U.S. and dividing the pieces among themselves, much like the Europeans did with the Ottoman Empire during the 18th-20th Centuries.

Hell yeah it's great, it's the best damn country on the planet.
-
America is neat You can tell by the way it is
-
I love it when I get to visit, cry when I leave. But I do that at the local supermarket also! Make your own mind up. Nah... Its like my love affair... I don't tell my own country, but I'm sleeping with America on the side! xxxx

10 RepliesDepends on where you live and the color of your skin
-
7 RepliesHell yeah. Despite Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Bush Sr trying to screw things up, things are getting better and we're kicking ass.
-
1 Replyit would be if libtards weren't around every corner
-
8 RepliesThis is why this country is not great. J.J Watt raised 37 million for Hurricane relief, but hey donating money to a convicted cop killer fun is amazing too.../s

1 ReplyI mean, we're about to elect a guy into our senate who has several sexual assault on a minor accusers that he claims to not know despite signing one's yearbook (and he was banned from a mall in the 80s for stalking girls) so I'd say we're pretty amazing. Hell, evangelicals in the state that are about to elect him were polled and about 30% said the sexual assault charges make them more likely to vote for him. So yeah we're a country that supports folks who sexually assault women and minors and elect them to lead us. America is pretty much top notch.

1 ReplyAmerica is where I keep my stuff.

When a country decides baby proofing everything is better than taking responsibility for their actions no. America is far from great. Wish it was great but it most likely never will be.
-
No because it is controlled by International Jewish Zionism, communism, and finance. America is trapped within an ever increasing burden of debt thanks to its Federal Reserve (central bank), and cultural Marxism is rampent. So no, America is not great and it wont ever be great until people stop buying into the lie that is the two party system, get off their asses, and demand the imprisonment of all its poltical criminals on both 'sides'. The federal reserve needs to be abolished, and we need to completely cut our ties with Israel, the UN, etc. Wake up America, you believe you are free when you are not.
