Game Crash Loading into Tower
I find that if I'm in my menu/character screen actively doing something with my inventory while flying into the tower I get a game crash. No error message appears. I can re-enter the game after the crash. This also occasionally happens if I'm using a third party interface and actively transferring items (i.e. DIM). I'm on PS4 pro.
I have encountered this at least 2-3 times per gaming session.

Same - on a PS4 Pro. Have had a fair share of blue screen crashes or infinite black screens trying to load tower (seems like it was far more reliable at launch), but in the last 2 days, I now assume I cannot load into tower without crashing out of the game. It is happening at almost every tower load no matter what I am or am not doing. I have had multiple crashes and not able to load tower and have had to fully power off PS4 Pro and clear everything to finally get in. This is frustrating and ultra annoying as this is something that is supposed to be done often. Many of my clan mates are also having similar issues.

Happens too often. Not only me, but other ppl in my fireteam are affected. Game crashes while trying to load into Tower.

Bump. Im not in menus, not multitasking, not in ps4 party, and it still crashes loading tower on both my PS4 and my PS4 pro. Does having 2 PS4s that I log into screw me in some way ?

Same with one of my friends. But it seems there is a pattern. During the day he played and no issues, however, as soon as we start to use party chat he crash consistently otw to the tower. Could be coincidence, but it has been like this for a few days now.

Same issue has happened to me several times over the past few days, I get an application error when I am flying back to the tower and I just had another application error when I was at the IO vendor leveling up. Please fix, this is annoying to have to re-start the game time after time.

So glad I'm not the only one having this problem. I am on regular PS4, not PS4 Pro. I have also tried disabling HDCP and it does not help. Crash only happens when zoning into Tower and Farm; does not happen on any other zones. I spent 25 minutes yesterday just trying to zone into the Tower. I am not exaggerating.

Having a similar issue too. It's crashed a few times but there have been several times where it 'half-way' loads into the Tower. I can hear the NPCs and music, etc. but the screen is black like the graphics never initialized. Have to either wait a loooong time for visuals to catch up give up and quit and restart D2. Seems to happen when in a fire team and maybe also when in the inventory while loading into the Tower.

I have the D2 PS4 pro. I never had any in game crashing issues until the recent update to fix said crashes. Now I crash en route to the tower.

I AM GETTING THE SAME PROBLEM, CRASHING WHEN I TRY TO GET TO TH E TOWER FROM ORBIT, AND WHEN I LOG OUT I GET A BLUE SCREEN ERROR REPORT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 2 to 3 WEEKS NOW. I HAVE HAD MORE PROBLEMS IN 2 to 3 WEEKS WITH DESTINY 2 THAN I EVER DID IN 3 YEARS ON DESTINY 1

Yes I am having the same issue crashes about 7 times last night. Also I am not receiving my clan engrams I have earned either. Both started after the last update. Is that the same issue? Bungie please help?

2 RepliesEver since the latest update I'm experiencing the same problem - application crashes when loading to the social space. About 50% chance that it happens, very annoying. In addition, sometimes I have infinite flying to the social space and/or can't see anything in my menus and screens. I'll try the next few times as you suggested and do nothing at all while flying to the tower (no menus, no DIM, etc.) - usually I use that slack time sorting thru and transferring my stuff. I'm on PS4 pro, too. Btw. approaching other destinations (the planets) works without any problems at all. Strikes, patrol, crucible, raid... all OK, no crash at all.
