Ever since the latest update I'm experiencing the same problem - application crashes when loading to the social space. About 50% chance that it happens, very annoying.
In addition, sometimes I have infinite flying to the social space and/or can't see anything in my menus and screens.
I'll try the next few times as you suggested and do nothing at all while flying to the tower (no menus, no DIM, etc.) - usually I use that slack time sorting thru and transferring my stuff.
I'm on PS4 pro, too. Btw. approaching other destinations (the planets) works without any problems at all. Strikes, patrol, crucible, raid... all OK, no crash at all.

Im having the same issue on a regular PS4. I have noticed that it happens more if I am in a different menu, but that might be coincidental. All I know is that I blue screen when flying into the tower. It has happened about 8 times to me since last night.

Im on regular PS4, digital version of Destiny. This needs a fix ASAP, i have NEVER had a game that has had this many crashes and its come to the point where i dred even going to the tower because my application just crashes :( Also, doing nothing while flying in does not change anything, it still crashes
