11 RepliesLol, that kid is an idiot. He says there's no such thing as class mobility, yet I'm sure his parents came here poor. Now he's in a university and he says his brother lives a good life. How the -blam!- does that make any sense if class mobility isn't a thing? I don't think anyone should have to get down on their knees and praise this country, but I do believe that those who aren't at least appreciative of the opportunities they have here, should go back to where they came from. Seriously, if you believe this country is so evil and oppressive, go live somewhere that you feel is more accepting of you. My mother was born here, but her family and my father came from over the border, and we all live well here. We aren't rich, but we also aren't playing the damn victim card crying oppression and racist over meaningless crap. We're a family of hard working people. Some of my uncle's own their own businesses, my cousins are college educated and I will be going to school soon to better myself as well. Screw the kid in that video and those who think like him. America may not be a perfect country, but it's pretty damn close and I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else.

18 RepliesTell that to all the oppressed people that now live free because the US intervened. Could you imagine a world with Hitler or Tojo as your ruler? Imagine Europe without jews, China as a Japanese suburb. Australia as part of the Axis commonwealth or North Africa speaking Italian. The US does not do everything right but could you imagine how it would be if the US did not intervene?

68 RepliesEdited by Chilly: 5/5/2017 4:24:52 PMAround 30 million indigenous peoples were conquered and slain under that flag as well as slavery. And nuclear detonation. America is worse than a lot of people out there. Edit: I'm an American and very patriotic. But we need to be honest as a nation. Genocide and slavery happened under our flag. We can't forget that. Personally, let it be a warning to what we as a nation are capable of.

17 RepliesThat brave man is absolutely right. The American flag stands for nothing but oppression, WASP supremacy, institutionalized racism and deliberate genocide and relocation of Native Americans, 241 years of supporting slavery, and forcing the British citizens to rebel, but ultimately lost against hate.

It's kind of sad that humans have just stopped appreciating that it is possible to have fun without being on a screen or pretending to kill something or both at the same time We have lost the ability to appreciate everything that this wet moist rock that we call earth has to offer I live in the woods yet never go outside Instead I find some way to stare at a screen or just sit there, bored I need to get up, go outside, and just look around at what I call reality I have to see that the trees, instead of just interesting ways the land is decorated, but as living things like you and me, who just are just too different for us to relate with I need to hear the birds sing, not as a way to give nature a background music for my enjoyment, but as the bird's own special way of saying, "here I am!" "I am alive!" I need to see the sky, not as some nice background for our everyday lives, but as an atmosphere, which gives us the oxygen we need, and supplies the carbon dioxide that the trees need, I need to see the sky as a shield against the heavens, and a feature that makes this world unique to all others I need to feel the ground beneath me, not as a surface on which we can edit to our needs, but as the beginning of planet earth, a layer of solid objects that allowed humanity to build its civilization upon, from which we have begun our climb to the stars, although we may never reach them I need to see the sun, not as some creative way for this world to give our lives light, but as a source from we get everything we need, the power required to make calories, and the energy to make our society flourish under this gift that keeps on giving, it has made the water drinkable, it has given all life food, it has given us the means to see, and it has given us life. I need to then look back at our race as a whole, and ask this Why do we fight, Why do we quarrel? Why do we find entertainment at the death and murder of others? Why do people, instead of looking to help others, look to gain at the expense of others? Why do we discriminate others due to race or gender, when we are all human, all have the same basic necessities, who all want to live in security, in this idea we call reality, who all share the same small moist rock we call earth?

All Star translated from English to French back to English: Someone has already told me that the world would roll me I'm not the most sophisticated tool in the hangar She was a bit stupid with her finger and thumb "L" shaped on his forehead Well, the years begin to come and they do not stop coming Faced with the rules and I hit the ground running I did not have the sense of not living for pleasure Your brain becomes clever but your head becomes stupid There is so much to do, so much to see So, what's wrong with the back streets? You will never know if you are not going You will never shine if you do not shine [Refrain:] Hey, now you're an All Star, pass your game, go play Hey, now you're a Rock Star, get the show, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only the shooting stars break the mold It's a cool place and they say it gets colder You're packed now wait until you get older But meteorites require Judging by the hole in the satellite image The ice we practice is very thin Water heats up to swim My world is on fire. And yours? That's how I love him and I will never get bored. [Chorus 2x] Someone asked once if I spared a little gas I must part with this place I said yes, which concept I could use some fuel myself And we could all use a small change Well, the years begin to come and they do not stop coming Faced with the rules and I hit the ground running I did not have the sense of not living for pleasure Your brain becomes clever but your head becomes stupid There is so much to do, so much to see So, what's wrong with the back streets? You will never know if you are not going You will never shine if you do not shine. [Refrain] And all that glitters is gold Only the shooting stars break the mold
