Is it just me or does it take forever to pull up you're characters inventory menu screen on consoles, on PC its pretty fast but why is consoles so slow? Bungie should decrease the time it takes to load you're inventory screen.
Edit: Title Fix

This is something that our teams are actively investigating. Whether it be inventory, loading characters, or loading into destinations, we have people looking at performance and how it can be improved.
-
It's absolute crap. They could at least do what Fallout 4 did and allow you to place items in a Quick Switch area tied to the Xbox D Pad. I could set up weapon loadouts / armor / grenades / potions etc. in there and switch to any of them in < 1 second. But nope, tie that to DPad for emotes which Everse sells - always cosmetics form over function.

Please upvote if you think bungie should fix the part where your loading into a envoirment and your in you inventory and destiny pulls you out of your inventory its annoying as hell
-
Let’s not stop there.
how about decreasing the time interval between new content releases to keep things fresh rather than drying up like a seasonal river.
-
I'm on the PC. I haven't played on the console but I'm totally up for saying yes to make loading anything faster. So I'll upvote!
-
I here you there. Good trick for now, use a phone app to change your gear, you can even set load outs.
-
I hate to be that guy, but it'll always be slower. Console is simply inferior in terms of hardware. Mind that, check the TWAB. Updates have (from what I understand) been a bit unoptimised and it's built up over time. Seems they'll be trimming that fat to make the load times speedier. /Console player

They said they’re trying to half all the loading times on Console maybe if you didn’t live under a rock you’d know
-
Why the f isn't my inventory data stored on my Xbox? Why does my Xbox have to talk to Bungie to find out what's in my inventory?
-
Battlefield V
-
I swear everyone makes posts about issues that have already been addressed or talked about in the twab. Hey guys look at me
-
I don't think they can fux it.....oops "fix" it. 😏
-
The only time it takes a while for my load out screen to pop up is while I’m flying to a destination. If I’m in orbit or I already landed it doesn’t take as long.
-
This game is based on a nearly 20 year old engine. Might as well try playing this game on a Commodore 64.
-
I play on all 3 platforms and by far the slowest is Xbox for me. Even something as simple as looking what a shader would look like takes forever but on the PC its instant. I can make a cuppa while I am waiting for something to load on my xbox its that slow.
-
Why is this even a topic that requires an “upvote if you agree with this thing” post? You’re basically saying “upvote if you think the game should run faster”. Who wouldn’t agree with that?
-
Takes way too long
-
Popping synths back in D1 took forever and there were many wipes thanks to that
-
Bungie might be able to do some clever coding, but what you're talking about is mostly a hardware issue. The X Box or PS4's processor is not as fast as a purpose built gaming PC's. Bungie isn't purposefully making more/longer loading screens. Bungie is trying to give us what we wanted (triumph recording, random rolls, more exotics, more content in general) and these are the consequences. If it bothers you that much, you might want to invest in a different console or even do a gaming PC build for yourself if you have a couple grand to dedicate to the cause. If not, you can realize that there are constraints on developers that you may not be aware of and learn to accept it.

I've died so many times to this. Thinking I have enough time to switch guns then the loading takes so long I die to mobs respawning
-
Bump. I love how im forced to pop a boon during an activity instead of before and swithing anything( guns or armor in a pvp match takes a whole minute.
-
I like the time it takes to open my inventory screen... Gives me time to put the kettle on and have a cup of tea. It’s usually open by the time I’ve finished.
-
Consoles can’t compete with what PC can do simply because of what they’re made of tbh. I can’t really imagine it’ll be easy to speed up loading times when the console itself limits those times

Edited by Jose_Cose: 11/9/2018 2:52:40 AMHey Everyone I figured Ill leave a update to this post, Thanks to everyone for pointing out that this might be a hardware situation and left many suggestions and I just ordered a really good SSD to switch out on my PS4, I plan to get a PS4 Pro and adding the SSD to that and hopefully that works but also with DMG response I hope they can do something on their end to help with this! Thanks Everyone Cheers

Bungie has no control over this. It's the fact that PC runs everything faster and smoother. Common -blam!-ing sense.

I just figured its because I haven't upgraded from base to PRO or X whatever. Like a pleb
