Bungie might be able to do some clever coding, but what you're talking about is mostly a hardware issue. The X Box or PS4's processor is not as fast as a purpose built gaming PC's. Bungie isn't purposefully making more/longer loading screens. Bungie is trying to give us what we wanted (triumph recording, random rolls, more exotics, more content in general) and these are the consequences. If it bothers you that much, you might want to invest in a different console or even do a gaming PC build for yourself if you have a couple grand to dedicate to the cause. If not, you can realize that there are constraints on developers that you may not be aware of and learn to accept it.

The UI is 0% faster on both my PS4 pro and XB1 x. If it was a hardware issue i'd see 'some' improvement at least. Except it's not, is it.

PS4 pro and xbox one x is more about a graphics upgrade than processing speed. it has a slightly faster processor but with the added graphics, it's not that much faster because there is more to load. This means it's often equal on time. I have an external SSD and run D2 off of it, on my xbox one S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWbSsJwzOkk I'm telling you it is noticeably faster. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are incorrect. At it's core, long loading time IS a hardware issue.

  • destiny always had a shitty argitecture, the engine and coding is one big flaming pile of crap... thats why d1 was so small in every aspect, thats why making dlc is so goddamn difficult for them... like really they even said this themselves.. here comes d2, do we get a new engine..... nope. so yes bungie did this

  • I don't know what "argitecture" is, but i do understand that the best coding in the world won't make the Xbox have a faster processor. Bungie, like all console game developers, work within the limits of the hardware. If you just want to hate on Bungie, there are reasons to, but this isn't one of them. You would best be served by moving along now, before you say something else that's completely ignorant.

  • architecture is the structure the strings of how you build the game with codes. people think to know what coding means, but true coding masters made red dead redemption. its not about how fast your progressor is, but how you make use of it.. when and what needs loading in what order.. stuff like that is basically called engine, presets of a architecture... if those are good ones the engines get famous and sold to others... if its bad, you get bad games, difficult games to add stuff to, difficult to increase vault space... everything is difficult for bungie, so why in the name of God did they stick with this engine is beyond me. i dont know wich engine bungie uses but it looks it came from walmart.

  • I know what "architecture" is, but you didn't say architecture, you said "arGitecture"? I'm guessing you also mean "processor" instead of "progressor". It's really hard to take you seriously with these kinds of mistakes. I'm also guessing english is not your first language. The more you respond the more ignorant you are looking. I don't have the time or desire to correct everything wrong with your understanding of game design. And even if I did, I'm not convinced you would be able to understand me anyway.

  • what a joke, you know exactly what i said. not being able to take me seriously because of some spelling mistakes, what a joke. you dont have time? yet you respond with a reply wich says nothing at all, talk about wasting time. instead of dicussing this topic, wich you and me can learn something from eachother, you just choose to attack me on my grammer and say im ignorant. well that actually is ignorant. keep on learning or offending other people, see wich works better for you. yeeeeaaaa haaaaaa usa usa usa number 1 have a nice day, and yes english is actually my fourth language. just for the record so you know you had atleast something right about me.

Show me one game that has a long wait time for a gear menu on PS4 or Xbox. D2 seams to be the only one for me.

  • It's not just gear menu, it's all loading times. and there are plenty of examples. I have an external SSD attached to my xbox one s and it has noticeably changed my load times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWbSsJwzOkk

  • I've never seen such horrid loading times for menus in any game. People I know that play on PC say this is one of the slower loading games even on PC.

  • it may be slow for pc, but it's way faster than console. so I do believe it's a hardware issue, mainly the hard drive. if we had ssd drives for our memory it would be much faster. more ram never hurts either.

This is the one sole advantage that console has on PC: the devs can really lock their code in since there's 1-2 hardware configs. It really is a Bungie issue; the menus loaded fairly slow on D1 too, just not as bad. They're getting worse and worse as more expansions have been released on D2. The forum section of their phone app loads like crap too much of the time, and I have a newer model mid tier phone.
