What/Who is ahamkara
I really wanted to know about ahamkara because alot of exotics have ahamkara in them

The Ahamkara are beings that crossed over the Veil into our realm just like the Traveler did. The Ahamkara took on the form of what we call dragons and we're very powerful (they kicked Auryx's and her sisters' butts until Auryx killed her sisters to become stronger. Auryx is Oryx's last form before becoming Oryx, if u weren't aware). They had vast knowledge and would telk people and Guardians of things that they should've been told, sometimes making them doubt the Light. It was collectively agreed that the Ahamkara must be killed, despite how helpful their knowledge could be. Thus, the Ahamkara Hunt began. Warlocks went out hunting the Ahamkara, along with some of the more clever Hunters, with no guarantee of coming back alive. Warlocks had the knowledge and mastery of the Light to help them defeat Ahamkara while Hunters could trick Ahamkara into thinking they were defeated. Once an Ahamkara was defeated, their bones were used to make armor, but as they were able manipulate the minds of those who weren't strong-minded while alive, they can still influence a Guardian's actions in bone form. Lines from the Ahamkara armor suggest that they may secretly still be alive, just resorting to turning into bones upon defeat

There's a similarity between the ahamkara's "Oh bearer of mine" quote on exotics and the worm gods own quote, however it's known what the worm gods offered was inherently evil and directly linked to the darkness and corruption. The ahamkara from what we have were not of this variety of evil. If anything they seemed to be a neutral party that could have been parasitic in nature, offering desires but siphoning one's sanity as a result. It could be possible they're one and the same but that link isn't really there. Remember that actual people / guardians used to cut deals with them. I don't think the vanguard was foolish enough to not recognize a vestige of the darkness. I think the worms and ahamkara come from the same plane, the ahamkara being the superior beings but in lesser numbers, while the worms imitated them in awe of their power, but ultimately took a shortcut and damned themselves via the darkness.

If you ever come across a huge massive Skelton that looks like a dinosaur or dragon skeleton that's an ahamkara. You see come acros them at several spots in different missions and quests but I don't remember which ones.

I'm in a clan called Ahamakras Extinction. Ironic since they're not extinct, so it seems. Guessing Ahamkara will play a role in later Destiny games. I want an Ahamkara raid with full Dragon armor!!!

It [i]is[/i] speculated, based on the "oh,..., mine" phrasing found in conversations in the Book of Sorrows (and every Ahamkara artifact), that the Worm Gods of the Hive are at least in some way related to the Ahamkara. And in fact may themselves be the legendary creatures. However no one knows their true motivations. We don't know if they are good or evil. If they all follow the Darkness, or if they make the choice to do so; and could therefore have factions on the side of the light. The large amount of Ahamkara artifacts sold by Xur has led some to believe the Nine that he serves are the last vestiges of the Ahamkara. Others claim that we never truly killed any of them, in a similar way that Oryx couldn't be killed completely in our plain of reality. What is for sure is that if they are alive they could be of great help, or cause serious problems. Either way, they don't have much reason to trust us right now.

3 RepliesFrom what I've picked up, is that the ahamkara are a dangerous and lethal alien race who were incredibly difficult to take down. They're extinct now, but I don't know what took them out, just that warlocks are obsessed with them.

So then the Great Ahamkara Hunt began, it was mainly Warlocks who hunted them down (i think it's because those dragons do some shit to your mind, and Warlocks may have some resistance to it), but Hunters assisted in slaughtering of the children. I haven't seen in any parts of the Grimoire Titans being involved in the Hunt, and they have no Ahamkara themed armor. It is theorized that Titans can't kill the dragons for some reason

1 ReplySome other kind of alien race that resemble dragons or giant worms, nobody knows really. Some speculate that the Ahmkara are the same worms that feed on the hive, and it's also been speculated that the Ahmkara are one of the members of the Nine.
