Remove it, just give it drastic damage drop off.

Edited by Tron Code: 2/8/2017 8:29:07 AMAs much as I LOVE hand cannons, if bloom was removed, HC's would be so OP! They'd be so over used... To the point that they'd most certainly be nerfed to the ground. As long as a HC hits as an acceptable range perk, they're fine as is...
-
You do realize what will happen if you do that? Let me give you a hint, "...Hand Cannons are too OP. They need to be nerfed. Everyone is running around with Hand Cannons. We need balance." I would put would money that.
-
People exaggerate bloom. I don't notice them as long as I'm in max dps range.
-
Max range hand cannons are in a very good spot right now. They are actually difficult to challenge against a person who is very good. Removing bloom would actually break the weapon class and make them op. I would recommend to increase the range on the high impact ones so that they stand out a bit better. Also increase the stability on the low impact ones so they are easier to use within the effective range that bungie wants them to work.
-
No. Bloom is the only thing preventing hand cannons from completely dominating in the Crucible. If they reduced/removed the bloom mechanic and reduced the aim-assitance and innate 'bullet magnetism' that hand cannons predominantly have, then yes I think it would be an interesting change.
-
Not gonna happen, bungie made it loud and clear their not removing the bloom even after the protest everyone made about in the forum. Its worse enough when i snipe someone in the head and it registered as a body shot but when it registered as a headshot it shows body shot damage.
-
Yes the bloom is visually recoil presented, is good to have but recently the update make the flinching is a thing, so the bloom mechanics making the pvp experience much worse, I think a fair mount of reduce the bloom will be much nice.
-
Yeah, handcannons were not OP in year one, only the exotics HCs were OP. Bloom is B.S. and it cripples the effectiveness of any handcannons that lacks max range.

Edited by Reshsafari: 2/7/2017 8:05:46 PMMisconception of bloom is that people will be mapping you if removed. This is not true. If you cannot hit someone far away with bloom now, you will not be hitting them any easier if bloom goes away. Removing bloom will increase accuracy but not range. Damage fall off is pretty severe for cannons. If you really want to balance weapons, then add bloom to high RoF weapons like clever dragon (lol it's a joke) The high rof archetypes and hand cannons were meant to compete. But with bloom that competition becomes lopsided because high RoF weapons only need to stay on target. Cannons need to hit three shots on target with breaks in between. If one gets bloomed, then it's 4 shots. All the while you are taking damage. If bloom gets removed however Hand cannons will be monsters in mid and close range. My personal opinion though is that hand cannons are in a good place. It's the other weapons that aren't. They are either doing too well or too badly for their respective utility.

I can speak only for myself: Are you mad? In my last three matches I was dominated every time by Hand Cannons. I got only 2 Kills with my Doctrin in closed Combats. Something goes wrong with the Hand Cannons.

It's actually a pretty decent Nirvana song

But then you don't know what it means.
