Alright, since some of you aren't getting it, I'll edit this so it's just the basics, since so many of you are complaining about length. So I played a round of Iron Banner, happy to see that it came back. I played, got to the top of the game, and stayed there to the end. I was sort of proud of how well I did. So I go to the rewards screen, and I get nothing. Two guys that did an alright job got really powerful gear, and some extras. Aside from the rewards guaranteed to the winners (Marks and Sterling Treasure), I got nothing at all. Now, I know a lot of people don't get it. "What, were you expecting all the rewards? My god, quit whining, you self-absorbed wanker." No, I never said that, I don't know where you're getting that conclusion from. My problem was that I got literally nothing. I'd have been happy with even a single Strange Coin or a single Mote of Light, or even an Armor Shader that I'd most likely discard. Believe it or not, I'm actually completely content with getting what most would consider crap. My problem is the fact that I got nothing, that the RNG allows such a thing to be a possibility for any unfortunate soul who plays his best and expects maybe a humble reward. You see, when I go into a game, I expect to have fun and come back with something that doesn't make it feel like a complete waste of time. It wasn't too much fun, and despite the guaranteed rewards, I came back with nothing. So many of you don't understand that, and I still don't know why. Instead, I get a few mature comments from a few mature people, but then I get the entire Morton Salt Factory dumped on my thread by some of the most toxic people that have ever existed on a single video game.

    I'm currently tank 2.75'ish in IB and so far I've only seen one drop go to the top guy. The top 3 drops are really rare too, maybe 3 in total. The bottom half on the other hand is getting 1-3 drops every match. Hell, if the game had not constantly thrown me into backfills that are about to end - and where I have no reasonable chance of gathering points for a top position - I'd probably still be loot'less, because that's where I've had all my loot. And -blam!- Shaxx and his class item packages.

  • What's funny is after reading the post, I changed my answer from don't care to don't change it. It's RNG, man. How you play has literally no effect on your rewards. With that in mind, you shouldn't ever expect any. Now I know that you're saying that should change, but if they do scale rewards to match performance, there's a LOT of crap players that will get nothing but deaths. They do this in order to maintain the ability to get any drop regardless of skill or ability. I'm typically top 3 on my team and lots of times I get squat. It's not great but I just play again and typically get something. Of all the things that need changing, I'm putting this rather low on the list.

    • Be mediocre, if you're great it seems like RNG sees you as a good player who has good gear. If RNG sees you as a bad player the good gear won't help. But if you suck just enough then maybe good gear will help.

      The only thing I want is for exotics to drop again from crucible and strikes. Currently everything is already extremely easy to get so there are only a few problems.

    • I feel like top spot should at the least be guaranteed 3 motes or 3 strange coins, never nothing. I get mad when I get nothing but I get on edge when I get one coin and 4th place gets 3. That ain't right.

    • Here is my opinion about loot. Doing well should never yield goose eggs. Someone below mentioned this was an asshole troll move by Bungie, they are 100% correct. It is an example of one of the things game developers do all of the time, seemingly just to mess with players. Because if there is a reason why this is a thing(why nothing is an option), it eludes me. Otherwise, here are my suggestions: 1. Remove blue engrams/items from the loot pools of strikes, nightfall, and events like IB. There is no point to them, Save us the trouble and allow motes, coins, weapon parts, and armor materials to drop. Even for low level players these items have more value than shitty blues, which can be found anywhere. 2. Top 2, Middle 2, Bottom 2 - In any competitive game mode, reward chance should be tiered. Everyone has the same quality of loot potential, just up the chance of a gun vs materials the higher up you are. Otherwise, since the update I have been very happy with loot. IB is seeming a bit stingy so far but overall not too bad.

      • I will always be against giving the best players in PvP the best [i]gear[/i], because that is the way we drive all casuals out and turn the entirety of Crucible into Trials (which, what, 10% or people play? 15% maybe?), but materials and cosmetics? I can get behind that. (Especially since I am still waiting for Refraction Melt to drop for me.)

          i really get what you saying here *true story* once i played a match of Rumble with one of my firends and most of the time i was reading somthing from my phone so that resulted of me being the last in the game and guess what got??? NO JOKE A frikin gjallarhorn my first one ever and i was really exited but to get it like this was really upset to me cuz for god sake I WAS THE LAST ONE IN THE GAME !!! and this how -blam!-ed up the RNG in destiny

              • Totally hear you man. Rolling a zero DOES NOT have to be an option in the RNG code. It's straight outta the asshole handbook. The fact that a player can receive nothing after a well fought match is blatant trolling of your player base, Bungie. Ya big old dickheads. We're all fine with RNG. That shouldn't be the issue. The problem lies in the way Bungie has programmed Scrooge-like behavior into the loot system. Why? Be cool Bungie. Why can't you just be cool? After a couple years of dealing with the wretched, demonic bitch that is the Destiny loot system, to then kick some ass in a random crucible match and have that dark bitch rear her ugly head an grant you nothing? C'mon! It's not cute. It's not amusing. It's utter bullshit and somebody should get punched in the face for it.

                          • Idk, but I'm sure the players at the bottom, would trade thier gear in to be at the top every now and then... Your performance should never affect the gear you get, that's my opinion... Rng is perfect the way it is...

                                • Drops are rng some games you get nothing others you get a coin a mote ands maybe a legendary, I'd be more upset if It was like 5 games in a row with no drops, did you play year one? Drops from crucible were terrible maybe one drop for the whole team in 3 games, so I'd say it has improved.

                                • It was all over the place last night for me, where I finished didn't seem to have as much of an impact on rewards (tho it did appear to favor 3-5 place). It did appear that close matches netted more/better rewards than blowouts. I did see quite a few Nirwens being handed out at 325+ light, which tbh made me jelly and made me play a bit longer than I had planned to. FWIW my best rewards were "shin guards and shoulder pass" at slightly higher light than what I had equipped. Received one exotic, no land beyond, in a loss... That reward felt a little troll ish......

                                  Not sure if it has been brought up yet, but I believe you actually get the IB gear/weapons to drop once you've actually hit the Vendor Rank/Purchase requirements. That's basically how it has been going for me so I could be wrong on my assumption here(or I'm totally an idiot and everyone already knows that this is a thing). Also, why are you surprised? These are the same guys who couldn't fix the glitchy Praetorians outside the Vault of Glass after nearly more than two years. [spoiler]Personally, what I think Bungie should implement from now on in the Crucible is a gift/card reward system where after each match you get a voucher for a randomly rolled item, much like what they currently have in regards to the loot table yet mixed in with the Sterling Treasure mechanic, but rather [b][i][u]each[/u][/i][/b] player gets one rather than just two or three people and then there is a chance that you get a bonus drop on the rewards screen. It's obvious that the dev team could care less whether or not you participate in a match as long as you are a number in their statistics. [/spoiler]
