#Gaming do you agree with this bad practice from gaming developers and publishers that has become a lot more prevalent in the last decade? What are your thoughts on them cutting content purposely to sell it back to you? (E.g. disc locked content like TDB and HoW) Are you happy the fact that gamers buying season passes and DLC are the actual cause of the increase in this? Some unscrupulous developers actually feel it's acceptable to cut the campaign from series that has always featured one, to me that's unacceptable, what do you think? Do you agree as some have said that they cut content to save on costs to keep down the costs to us gamers? That if not due to this the cost of the base game with DLC (cut content).together could cost double? If that is true why in 12 months did a so called AAA title cost £120 at launch including cut content? but exactly 12 months later it costed only £65? [i]Some of the examples in the video include Final Fantasy Tactics, Minecraft and Half-Life 2. • I'm so sick of hearing about "cut" content. It doesn't effing matter when the developer does the work, before or after launch. It matters how much content the game has, how good the content is, and for what price. If we found out that the vampire expansion from Skyrim was cut content, nobody should bitch about it because Skyrim didn't need that content. Obviously destiny needed more content.

            • Most of the time theres locked content on a disc. The content is unfished. Its a way to optimize it so you aren't dowloading massive updates. It's not always like that but most of the time it is. If it's not I think the best thing that could happen to gamin would be just to raid the price ten dollars that's what these games go for by selling 70 dollars worth of content not sixty thats why there is so much dlc anymore

                • Cutting content because it shouldn't be there and it is never seen again is ok for me. But cutting content and selling it as dlc? No. Just no.

                    • I do not agree with this practice it is wrong if you complete DLC before you finish making the main game that is just a slap to the consumers face

                    • HoW and TDB were not cut from the game. If this were true, Activision would've sold them as Day 1 DLC.

                          • cut content is unfinished, your talking about locked content (content locked behind some form of a paywall ) In that case, no its wrong and is close to stealing.

                              • No I don't think it's a good business decision at all. If certain content doesn't fit with the big picture, that can be necessary. But removing content from a game to sell it as DLC is not a good choice because it reduces the quality of both the original game and the DLC, and that makes people a little less likely to buy the game, which means less sales and therefore less money. You save money yes, but you also lose it. And it doesn't look good to the community now does it?

                                      • -blam!- no. Shamelessly cutting apart a game into individual DLC packs is just plain wrong. See exhibit A, Destiny, for why it is so incredibly bad. I'm willing to pay for DLC, but it needs to be worth it, and the game needs to stand on its own without it. It needs to be something that really ADDS to the game world, rather than it being a piece that was sealed away so that people could sell it. My prime example of REALLY GOOD DLC is from FromSoftware, in Dark Souls 2. The DLC areas are far from necessary to complete the story, and you'd still get a whole experience from the game without DLC. However, the DLC adds another layer into the game, giving incredibly polished and solid areas to adventure around in, along with several new items, all for a relatively low cost. For a company that puts so much care into their games in the first place, I'd gladly slap down $10 for a DLC. Another wonderful example is in The Last of Us. There is a DLC which lets you play as Ellie, and see how she had gotten infected in the first place. This is also very high-quality, and not having it doesn't take away from the base game. It is simply another layer that really adds, in a good way.

                                      • As much as I like you, I disagree with this post and this mentality 100%. After working on the advertising end of the industry on some well know titles and franchises ( not to mention being right there when THQ went down ) This is the cost of keeping games at the low price that they have been for over a decade.
