That "Replacement Raid" coming "Later this Year" - Free or New DLC?
Frankly, I am a bit disappointed with HoW not having a new Raid. Raids are the only thing that might get me back into Destiny - and I do recall promotional material for HoW Advertising a NEW RAID, so... yeah.
Anyway, they said there will be a new Raid "later this year" (vague, much?), and I am wondering if it will be:
Free for everyone?
Free for Season Pass Owners?
Free for HoW Owners (as it would count as the HoW "Replacement Raid")?
Paid DLC?
As an owner of the Expansion Pass (and very underwhelmed by its contents so far), I'd like to know if I will (ever) get my money's worth out of the Expansion Pass? I got my money's worth from the game, sure, but the content of the Expansion, so far, I don't feel like it, especially now, seeing as there will be no new Raid.
Similarly, people considering to buy HoW might be interested to know if they might get another Raid.
Or will Bungie, in an uncharacteristic move for Destiny, release a new Raid for free? While I would love for people to get stuff for free, that might make me feel just a tiny bit annoyed at having paid for the season pass in the first place.
Thoughts? Answers?

1 ReplyHoW won't have a raid activity. HoW continues till the next expansion. We are still in the dark below expansion. I don't see why people are struggling with this concept. THERE AT NO POINT WILL BE A FREE RAID OR A RAID UNTIL THE NEXT EXPANSION. READING COMPREHENSION PEOPLE. ITS VALUABLE.

Wow. Sorry you didn't get your 15$ worth. I got my money's worth several times over. As for the new raid. No one knows. No one outside of bungie. And they don't seem to want to talk about it.

Two facts. Two statements. Neither connected in any other way. A release later this year would be Comet in September. There is a Raid in Comet. Hence, there's the raid coming later this year. In Comet. Quests & Arena are the "raid" in HoW and how we get the armor and items normally received in raids.

You have roughly 23 days worth of play time: around 550 hours. If you paid $70 for the game etc you've spent about 12c per hour of play... I'd say that is getting value for money...

Deej clearly said that how would not have a raid. Not that the raid would be delayed, bu that there would t be one. Id bet my left nut that the next raid will be with the plague of darkness this fall. Writing content for this game must be a real bitch. The lack of content is crazy and if you subscribe to the idea that activism is just greedy, and that is why there isn't content, why wouldn't they just put out a ton of content and increase the number of 20$ dlcs.

2 RepliesIf I was betting man, I would wager that they are going to release a HoW raid around 2 months after the dlc drops. I think Bungie found that most players were through TDB content in a matter of weeks after it's release. This way players can get through the new story missions, a new strike, experience the Trials of Osiris, and the arena. Just about the time folks are getting sick of this, a new raid will magically appear and capture some interest until the next Dlc or expansion comes out. Just my opinion though.

There was never a raid planned for House of Wolves. Period. You will know this too be true when we get 1 raid with Comet sometime around December

Would you rather wait a few months and get a raid just as good as VoG or better? Or would you rather get the raid now but it's is just as bad as the Crota strike

1 ReplyI've said this multiple times, and I will gladly say it again… As a very loyal bungie supporter, I have always been giving Bungie the benefit of the doubt with past decision about the DLC's and it's contents. I'll even give them the benefit of a doubt with their decision for the HoW and no Raid. BUT, if they charge $$$ later for the 'House of Wolves Raid' in a separate DLC or even by itself, they will lose every bit of respect I had for them. There is nothing worse than getting nickel and dimed to death by a company already rolling in cash. Leave that to App store games on phones. I understand servers need money to stay afloat, but charging for content that was sort of technically promised in something I payed for already, then separating the payment is taking the "milking it" thing way too far. And I'm positive I'm speaking for many who feel exactly the same way.

Well, the Weekly Update is out, and they did not in any way talk about the Raid. Who knows what that means, but I suspect they might just ignore any question regarding the Raid from now on. Could be wrong. Happened before.

A quote from bungie PR in the kotaku article. When asked about whether the raid would be available to people who have purchased house of wolves. "The game will receive a third raid at a later date, but it won’t be part of the expansion." Seems to me like a sly way of saying no its not

14 RepliesIt really didn't make sense fit Bungie to push out new content that less than a 1/4 of the Destiny population would even utilize. Instead they made something that everyone can enjoy. We all asked for a horde mode. We got one. Be happy. Let them make a decent Raid instead of another Crota raid that can get run through in 20 minutes.

16 RepliesIf anyone has been playing this game since launch, then they would remember that VoG did not drop with the full Destiny game. We got it a week after the release. Even with that time taken to work normal mode, VoG had it's fair share of issues. They even stated in the announcement they were humbled by the experience. What's to say that they are simply taking apart the raid they had planned because it seemed to similar to what we have already seen? Now just because Bungie states that a raid will not be released with HoW and there will be one later this year (read later not end of ), does not mean we will have to pay for it. Bungie has done no microtransactions in the game thus far. Why would they start now? Just be patient people. They've delivered on almost every major request that the community has had in the 8 months the game has been out. I for one still have faith in Bungie. We know this release will make or break the game for a lot of people. So just wait.

Hope bungie forgot to make a new raid, and make comet have all the exclusive stuff from PlayStation be part of that. There will always be millions of people that will buy what they sell, losing respect of some cry babies doesn't mean anything
