As an owner of the season pass (and very underwhelmed by its contents so far), I'd like to know if I will (ever) get my money's worth?
You have over 500 hours of game time and spent what? 85 bucks? I'd say you got your money's worth. I'm being dead serious, pal. In fact I'd say you got more than your money's worth. We are getting a new game mode, a way to upgrade our legendary gear (365 Fatebringer, bitches) among other things they haven't announced. Get...the...-blam!-...over...it...

 • So if I left my Ps4 on for a year in Destiny (obviously re-entering when booted) and did not actually play I would have more value for money than the 500 hours guy.....yeah right....see why your point is retarded, much like destiny fanboys.... BTW, air is free, how about that for value...

 • If you left you're console on just sitting in orbit for 500 hours...well...you're an idiot.

 • You truly miss the point hes talking about, Essentially his saying that the season pass value is not much and his right dark below was bare bones and house of wolves has one strike one bloody strike, Now don't mistake me for a hater but this game has so much potential yet its not been taken advantage of its frustrating.

 • It is what it is. If you don't think you got enough bang for your buck then don't buy the next DLC. I myself feel I got more than enough and I am sure plenty of others did as well. We on this forum are the VOCAL minority.

 • You miss the point and ignore the games flaws also its a fact dark below was bare bones especially for xbox users, while i enjoyed the raid and strikes its still an mmo style game dark below was called an expansion when in reality its not, I want better bigger experiences not content drip fed to us i'm a fan i want destiny to reach its full potential we as a community have to provide helpful criticism you should want a better game period i'm not trying to insult or start an argument but i hope you get what i'm trying to say.

 • I do want a better game. Absolutely. I want a lot of things. Hotswap dpad functions Horde Mode (which we may get with this DLC) More Strikes More bounties (which we get with this DLC ) Optional proximity chat For them to stop nerfing weapons because of PvP Larger public events based on how many Guardians are in a particular instance Customized build your own weapons Customized build your own armor Custom shaders An in game lobby system to make the Tower actually relevant More events that cater to PvE players rather than the countless Iron Banner events Ability to access my vault from orbit (app works too though) Custom Ships and ship shaders Loading mini game The ability to run max level strikes with my own custom modifiers Etc.... Etc.... The thing is that they made this game for last gen too. A lot of what I want just isn't possible right now and it's what I want not what everyone wants. I enjoy the game how it is now. If I do not see the game improving then I won't continue to spend money on it. I've gotten my money's worth.

 • My money's worth out of the SEASON PASS. Not the whole game. I played the game a lot, and I actually like(d) it a lot, I don't argue that - why would I? Having played both Alpha and Beta, I bought the Season Pass as soon as it was available, which is pretty much the biggest compliment I can give a game these days. But it was advertised with each Expansion featuring a new Raid. Sadly, the content of the first "Expansion" has been lackluster in my opinion. From the "story" missions to the Crota's End Raid, which, again only in my opinion, paled in comparison to the Vault of Glass. After so many hours of doing the same things again and again, raiding with friends is pretty much the only thing getting me to come back to Destiny. As such, I was looking very much forward to HoW and the Raid it would include, specifically because I like the game. Yet, with that announcement, I feel a bit disappointed. And I do believe I am not alone in thinking, that the content we were given with the first expansion was not really worth the price of that expansion, whether bought by itself or as part of the season pass - at least, in regards to the actual content (not the grinding time) I got compared to cheaper but more significant expansions, like Skyrim's for example, or the Dark Souls DLC. So, yes, I am wondering if I will get my money's worth from the Season Pass, especially now, seeing that the promised, second Raid, whenever it will appear, may or may not be part of that money.

 • I'm going to focus on the last part of your response. You say we were promised another raid. Where was that promise made? I feel I have gotten my money's worth on the DLC by the way. I maybe value my entertainment less than you do though. Since February I have likely put in at least 100 hours. I've gotten 100 hours of entertainment for an additional 15 bucks. Yeah....I'm ok with that. I can't even take the wife to the movies and buy her a drink for 15 bucks.

 • The early Season Pass info stated that each expansion would contain "a six-player Raid Activity". That was still present in promo material from the end of last year. That's what I bought (or that's what I thought). Anyway, I don't want to argue the point of time spent with the game, I've played it a lot, it's the lack of actual new content I didn't like. I'd say about 60-70 % of Dark Below happened in already visited locations (only going through backwards), there were no new enemies or enemy behaviours (except Crota and Ir Yut and, maybe, Omnigul), no new Public Events. Yes, new weapons and gear but only a few pieces of that were really "game changing". The new PvP maps are still locked in a separate playlist of three, and except for the big map they're pretty bad in design, even compared to the other CQC Destiny Maps. Not to mention that a playlist of three maps defeats the whole point of adding variety through new maps. For me, at least. The Urn of Sacrifice and the Raid were Dark Below's only really redeeming features for me, and only one of those could be replayed (outside of changing characters). For HoW, the Raid is not present. There are, once again, only three story missions and a strike. And maybe the Arena will be great, but it's not a Raid. It sounds like a 3-man Horde Mode with Boss Fights and Modifiers, not a six-man Raid. For now at least, until I know more and see more of HoW, and maybe learn if another Raid apart from the one Comet will bring will even be released (and how, which is going straight back to my original question), yes, I am still wondering if I will ever get my money's worth out of that season pass.

 • Sure, there are a lot of things I'd like to see. More strikes, raids, bounties, game modes etc. I'd like to able to create my own Nightfall type modifiers for level 32 strikes. I'd like a Hoard mode (which we may be getting). I'd like a way to reroll legendary weapons. I'd like a way to customize and create legendary weapons and gear. I'd like to see mass public events that are triggered when a certain amount of guardians are in a particular instance. I'd like to see better loot rewards. I'd like a damned ghally. I'd like to see custom shaders. I'd like to see an optional proximity chat. I'd like an in game lobby to make the tower actually relevant. I'd like to see public events at the tower. I'd like to see customized hot swap buttons on the dpad instead of gestures. I'd like to see weapons only get nerfed in PvP and left alone in PvE. I'd like to see more PvE events instead of the countless PvP events. The point is that I'd like to see a lot of things that aren't in the game, but I am satisfied with how it is for now. If they continue to not add these features then I'll just quit playing. I'll also be satisfied that I got my money's worth. I've spent far more money on things that left me far more dissatisfied. All these threads do is reek of shitacular attitudes. I can see someone saying they haven't gotten their money's worth if they quit after 50 hours. At 275 though? That some smelly bullshit right there IMHO.

 • I'm not going to reiterate all of that again, but the money's worth is in regards to the season pass content - as in "How much did the expansion we got so far really expand the game?" And if you recall, my original post was simply about asking what people think about how they will treat the lack of a Raid for HoW in regards to future content releases. You got hung up on a single personal opinion. Now, I'm not alone in that opinion regarding the actual "new" content the first DLC provided, but I'm not trying to sway anyone who is happy with what they got. Still, your argument about play time in this instance is not really relevant to my opinion. As play time is about the whole game, not just the content we got or will get from the season pass. Destiny is pretty much, in my opinion, the mechanically best shooter I have played. And the Raids offered a great game play experience for a group of up to six people. But if the mechanics were any less good, I would've stopped playing long before the 50 hours marks, simply for the lack of content and/or compelling story - something that the so-called Expansions were/are supposed to address. Bringing more Content. Bringing a better story. Bungie said before the Dark Below release that they listened to the perceived lack of story, yet Eris's "plotline" was even worse. Have I gotten my money's worth out of Destiny? Yes. Out of the Season Pass and the Expansions? No, at least not yet, and with the lack of a second Raid, I am concerned if I ever will. And if you want to talk price and content, well, the Expansions went for 35 GBP in the Season Pass, or 20 single. A third of the retail game's price. The Dark Below did not have content comparable to a third of the retail game, nor did it bring any real changes to the game mechanics, like new abilities, drastically different weapons and gear or new gameplay features. One could argue, that the only "new" thing that happened was the stunt-sparrow. And with the Raid missing from HoW, I am, until I know more, wondering if the HoW - and the whole season pass with it - is worth the price of admission. Compare that to the Dark Souls DLC "Artorias of the Abyss", which was called an Add-On, went for 15$ / 10 GBP, and featured a whole new area, new loot, genuinely new enemies and bosses and a dedicated PvP mode and arena, and I don't see how The Dark Below fares too well against that. Or Compare it to the Skyrim Add-Ons, one of which, Dawnguard, brought a big storyline that could drastically alter your gameplay for the whole game by bringing crazy new abilities, new enemies and new loot; while the other brought a completely new area, with a new story line and new enemies and loot and resources. Those went, at release for 20$, I think, and still offered more of an "Expansion" than what Destiny has provided. You say you'd like to see more stuff added to the game, strikes and public events and bounties and all that. I'd like that too, but... where should those things come from, if NOT from these Expansions? If everyone gets all that for free, what is the point in having overpriced Expansions, that do neither really expand the game world, your gameplay or add real variety? So, no, so far, I am not impressed with the new content the Expansions provide. And I do not feel like having gotten my money's worth out of the season pass, especially compared to what the main game offered, or what other console add-ons offered in the past.

 • So how many hours of play time do you estimate you have since the Dark Below dropped? 50...75...25...? I'm hung up on play time because that's what matters. Who in their right mind continues to play a game that is sorely dissatisfied?

 • I am afraid I can't make myself any clearer than this: I am dissatisfied with the content that was added through the so-called Expansion of the Dark Below. I am worried about the content of the House of Wolves, now that it doesn't feature a Raid. Thus, I am worried about getting my money's worth out of the EXPANSIONS. I never, not once, said that I am not satisfied with the game - only with the meager content offerings that came with the Expansion. I don't know how many hours I've put into the game since TDB dropped, but whatever it was, the only bigger portion of it I might have spent on TDB content was the Raid. Because, apart from the Raid, what exactly is there to do? I stopped playing Destiny on a regular basis about... 6 weeks ago, stopped altogether about 4 weeks ago. I was looking forward to the new Raid as something to get me back into the game. As such, I am disappointed.

 • I can't make myself any clearer either. Don't play if you're that dissatisfied. Don't buy any further DLC. Seriously....stop playing and stop buying. Nothing speaks louder than your wallet and your time. I am satisfied with the content. I feel I have gotten well more bang for my buck than I ever expected to get. I didn't walk into this game thinking it would be the "be all end all" of video games. I stopped doing that years ago. The only game that disappointed me in the last five years was Thief. You want to talk about games that didn't offer shit for your money? Thief.

 • Stopped playing already. Stopped buying since I already bought what was there. But I actually really enjoyed Thief... No, honestly. Spent lots of hours on that one. It wasn't Dishonored, but I liked it.

 • Old enough, yeah, by far. But those games came after I stopped playing PC games, so no, I didn't play them. I heard good things about them, though, yet I can only judge the Thief Remake by what it is. And I did enjoy that a lot. Not as much as Dishonored, but I liked it. Maybe can't compare to the old ones, but those were different times and different kinds of games. Like... the original Rainbow Six (my last PC game, that was) compared to Rainbow Six: Vegas. More accessible now, less scope for pretty graphics. I might be tempted to try those should I find them on Steam, but I already have a HUGE backlog without games from years ago...
