I've been playing Destiny extensively, both D1 and D2. Although I'm not the best player, I consider myself a PvP main. I enjoy spending most of my playtime in 6v6 modes. I dabble in solo Trials occasionally but find it slow and boring most of the time. Perhaps it would be more enjoyable with an efficient stack that knows how to push.
Here are my suggestions to improve the PvP experience:
1. Fewer modes: It makes no sense to have so many playlists to choose from. My suggestion is to have a single 6v6 mode and a single 3v3 mode.
2. SBMM or CBMM: With a declining population, better connection quality, and faster queue times are most likely the way to go. I don't mind slight SBMM, but it shouldn't come at the expense of connection.
3. 6v6 should be freelance: I feel strongly about this one. Whenever there's even a decent duo in the lobby, it throws the balance out the window. I believe 6v6 should be about casual and fast games. Freelance offers the best possible connection quality, the best lobby balancing, and the fastest matchmaking. If 6v6 becomes freelance, teams would populate the other 3v3 mode, breathing some life into it.
Thanks for reading.

1. Revert the special ammo economy to dropping bricks on death. 2. Revert the body to crit multiplier on primaries. 3. Create a playlist (not Comp or Trials) that only uses primaries. 4. Stop punishing players for swapping load outs. 5. Nerf the high impact pulse rifle frames. They are way too easy to use to have such a fast TTK. 6. Balance the lobbies a bit better.

1 AntwortenI just want a Hunter free playlist. Their abilities are too OP and they bounce around all over the place Put hunters in their own playlist please.

3 Antworten10 000+ hours in PvP?!?! Dude. If you played 8 hours a day every day that’s like…3.5 years straight with no breaks 😳 Just…Why?

We should have a basic 5 nodes - Competitive, Quick Play, Rumble, Crucible Labs (that gets turned on when testing new modes - or is replaced by Trials during the weekends), and Private Match (theoretically we have 3 public matchmaking nodes on at all times as a minimum). Make sure to remove leaver penalty from these nodes except competitive. Iron banner can take over control but remove the SBMM out of it. I'm never bothered by the stacking - either just get wrecked and move on or leave. In the end it's a casual gamemode I couldn't care less about how others spend their evening/night gaming.

4 AntwortenYou dont fix it. The issue was they made the casual mode SBMM. Now that no one wants to paly because we are all tired of Bungie taking 6 months to fix a game......they wonder why they had the least amount of players ever on Trials this weekend.
-
7 AntwortenWith you on all of it except #3. You can't take away group play from the standard quickplay mode. If you mean have a freelance OPTION, sure, but just making it freelance is a complete non-starter.
-
Ima lol at you again, thinking that Bungie will actually put that much effort into their dying game anymore, let alone for the pvp part. Lol.

7 AntwortenThe biggest problem I have with CBMM is that it encourages hacking and cheating of all kinds, as well as connection manipulation. Even though SBMM takes longer to start a match which can be frustrating, I rather wait then have to face off against hackers who either shorten the game greatly or make it impossible to play.

1 AntwortenI believe some balancing needs to be done Glaive Bow (please not La menarque) or just take the poison out of pvp GL All need subtle buffs to keep the game interesting and balanced. Bring some diversity

2 AntwortenDedicated servers. Punish bad connections and not good connections (like already for 10 years now).

Agree, not sure about the last point as I do like playing with some of my friends, but as it is right now none of them are playing pvp so it won’t make a difference. Miss the forsaken times were you can just go and have fun, as it is rn everyone is so scared of doing anything that is so campy and boring, not going to lie I have enjoyed more mayhem just because of that, is fast paced at least, taking away the gremlins with turrets and stasis scythes 😂

1 AntwortenI like some of your points but 6v6 being freelance is not one of them. I miss playing 6s with my friends. This game has no balance and never will have. I just want a fun chaotic casual mode that isnt mayhem.

1 AntwortenI’ve played as much PvP as yourself and 100% agree

7 Antworten
6v6 should be freelance:
node optional - then sure.
-
1 AntwortenI don't think there should be fewer modes, but fewer nodes. Loading a 6v6 quickplay should have a chance of putting you in different gamemodes like control, rift, collision, combined arms, etc.
-
4 AntwortenI absolutely agree but I disagree with the 6v6 freelance thing, sometimes you just wanna play with your friends and chill,no one is going to sweat like crazy over quickplay and if they do it’s because they’ve got nothing else going on.
-
1 AntwortenSome of us like Rumble. Crucible labs can go, but we got some cool changes to pvp from labs. So, that doesn't seem necessary either. I agree about the connection and queue times. That's about it though. Some of us have friends we enjoy playing with.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von DazK: 9/5/2024 3:00:42 PMBiggest pain point for me is the ability uptime and connection issues. Sure, Destiny wouldn't be Destiny without abilities, but it's just waaaaaaaaay too much. Like WAYYYYY too much. (hope that was clear enough) I miss the time before TFS when the abilities were tuned down and the pvp team was active and making serious changes. It was finally at a good place and I was so hopeful. Then all that was out the window and now we're back on square -20...

2 AntwortenPvp is like playing a MOBA with all these abilities non-stop. In pve players are now beating dungeons without using weapons.
-
2 AntwortenThey can fix 6v6 with shax selling scratch off tickets , witch drops masterworks after every game for limited time if you win in the scratch off.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Artisan: 9/4/2024 6:51:46 PMYes the loss of Freelance modes was a travesty. I even, perhaps especially, hate it when there's an e.g. trio on YOUR team. That means I'm playing their game and invariably theyre not playing mine, theyre looking after their own. Consequently if there's pairs, thrios, quads in the matchmaking I'm trying to cancel out that lobby - I don't want them on either side or any part of it. Although switching to CBMM makes sense in the current death spiral or downturn (take your pick) it makes such a massive difference to the play experience there needs to be choices. Each of those need better incentives ie loot too to encourage both to go into the 'dark side' of the experience relative to them. But Destiny has bigger problems: stopping a major player exodus being the primary.

1 AntwortenCBMM solo freelance I’m all for. The old CBMM was full of lfg posts about crucible farming 2.0 KD and above only. Etc etc.
-
2 AntwortenThat’s too many hours (apologies if you’re a paraplegic or basement hostage)

12 AntwortenPosted after a loss 😂 You scared of intimate pvp modes like rumble and trials. At heart I’m a 6v6 slayer but now I play trials and rumble. All they have to do is remove sbmm and boom game lives on.
