I get it. It's about finding people and banding together to take on this huge challenge. But part of the reason I don't feel inclined to buy expansions anymore is because it's hard to schedule a raid with six people and why would I buy an expansion at full price when I can't even play all the content? I get raids are for the hardcore players, but even an easier mode with match-making would greatly improve the connectivity of Destiny in my opinion.

If you can't find a good clan to join, you're either lazy or not sociable. join a the100 group. There are literally hundreds of raids every day who need players. Matchmaking in raids would be an absolute troll fest. It's already bad enough in LFG groups. People LFG to the boss and bail all the time just to get the checkpoint. People sometimes suck, that's why I join good clans and play with good people.

I don't care. - alt
Dude...I'm a mom who only gets about 2 to 4 hours a night to play at most, if I even get on. Raids are not for hardcore players. Just try to make friends or use LFG (Bungie app or whatever platform you're using). There are many clans out there also. I'm all for matchmaking on a lot of things, but for raids I see it being a disaster...People can't even pass the ball in The Corrupted Strike when matched with blueberries. Now imagine even just the 1st encounter of Spire of Stars, with 5 randos, most of which won't even have a mic... -

Raid matchmaking has the following problems; MICS. Everyone MUST have a mic or they can’t q. If Raid matchmaking becomes a thing, that has to exist in some form. BRAINS. There’s a reason most people never complete a raid. They have to be able to follow instructions to learn. I do raid sherpas/mission helps/carries at twitch.tv/ideaesthesiafps (I regret nothing about that plug) and the SHEER NUMBER OF PEOPLE who just wont listen is astounding. To the point where a SCOURGE Sherpa takes almost three-four hours. Ridiculous. LIGHT LOCKING. I’m not running a garden with someone who is at 750 light using blue weapons. Not happening. INGAME MIC SYSTEM. The ingame chat is HORRIBLE for console players. Doesn’t work at all most of the time. Xbox parties are about all we got, besides discord mobile. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE REQUIRE SOMEONE TO HAVE A CLEAR BEFORE THEY MATCHMAKE. Find a Sherpa, or find some friends before screwing over a 1 hour activity into four-6 hours. If that happens, MAYBE that can happen. But I doubt it. -
I'm personally against MM for raids. But in all honesty I want bungie to implement it so I can read all of the complaints after.
-
Guided games was a failure. And lfg exists. Heck, it is even on this site.
-
it's not like the old days where you have to manually invite people from the tower, we do have LFG. Anyone can play raids anyway, they're not very hard in D2
-
Alright tell me how to do the calus encounter in leviathan with random people with no mics and no communication. While people can learn mechanics one by one raids are about the team putting the pieces together. Also the vault in last wish.
-
If you found your way to the forums, you can find your way to the find a fireteam page.
-
Bungie Fireteams is the matchmaking. Guided Games was in theory the in-game matchmaking, but surprise: no one used it. Use Bungie's LFG software, use third-party software, and stop complaining about things that already exist.

Bearbeitet von IGotYour6: 10/26/2020 7:31:11 PMI hate RAIDs and have since the Leviathan. Sneaking aroung with a seed, standing on plates, literally jumping through hopps like a circus animal. Pure garbage

Managerie is basically all 4 leviathan raids in "easy matchmaking mode". All the mechanics are stupid easy and you literally can't fail. That's how much you have to dumb it down to make raids accessible to random players with no voice comms. Matchmaking in a raid has been, is currently, and will always be a bad idea. Sorry. It's simply not possible for 6 random people who aren't talking (and may not even have a mic) to drop in and complete the objectives. Making it easy enough to do so is the same hand holding Bungo has done for years that made basically all the rest of the content in this game so easy that it becomes boring. Look at gambit. They have it built in such a way that you can literally not bank a mote and after they get a primevil, you can bank, making their boss fight harder, and invade every 4 seconds (hyperbole to prove a point). The game punishes you for playing the objective to make it easier for the other team to "come back and win". Managerie was fun for a bit, but it's so boring to go through now, especially when you have new lights who don't know the activities and it takes you 5-6 rounds to get to boss. Making things easy makes them frustratingly boring. Raids get easy and boring over time too, but it takes way longer since they require a team, you simply can't do them as often.

Bearbeitet von RingersCheckmate: 10/26/2020 7:51:16 PMThat just defeats the whole point of a raid The connectivity in Destiny has made raid sites like LFG possible. Idk when or if Bungie will include one in-game, but so long as you're patient I think anyone can find a raid group.
-
just use lfg? I have no issue whatsoever getting on-the-spot raids, or even joining raids when i don't know the encounters, you should easily be able to get a group, especially right now with everyone farming everything And matchmaking would be nigh impossible to get working right, what with all the children every time a new piece of content drops (worse off on Xbox), the people who don't know how to do anything, the low light level people, trolls, etc etc

Raids are hard the first 2-4 times, and then become ridiculously easy completing without any issues. Raiding is NOT for hardcore players, if people with physical/mental disabilities can complete it without a problem, then so can you. The only problem I see is you setting up mental road blocks and excuses on why you can’t be bothered to participate in a raid. It’s not that difficult finding a group on lfg (you should make your own group, don’t rely on finding one) I get it, communicating with randoms and relying on teamwork is a challenge for some people, it’s completely understandable since I used to be exactly like that in Destiny 1. But you’re not going to get anywhere complaining about it on the forums, nor begging for a matchmaking mode; rather you should just be focusing on pushing yourself out of your comfort zone so you can experience one of the best parts of Destiny’s existence: The Raids. The only obstacle in this situation is yourself. Find the right time (whenever you’re free for a few hours) Find the right people (most people who raid on lfg aren’t toxic and are understanding human beings) And most of all find the right video/person to teach you how to complete the encounters, remember you’re going to fail the first few times, do NOT let this demotivate you whatsoever, it’s completely normal and is apart of the learning process. I wish you the best of luck when it comes to future raiding, don’t be discouraged, you’ve got this in the bag.

I wish they would introduce match making for raids, just to make ppl see how absolutely terrible a match made raid would be. I would join a match made raid with a bucket of popcorn. Imagine 6 blind monkeys trying to organise a raid encounter, 4 without mics, one guy asleep and one trolling the crap out of the situation. The list is endless 🤣
-
Huge challenge? Raids are easy, its the a-holes make it hard.
-
Bearbeitet von Swiftlock: 10/27/2020 5:53:42 AMRaid matchmaking will never work. What happens when someone leaves early? Everyone's just screwed. You can't have matchmaking for every checkpoint of every raid just to patch up early leavers. And mind you, a lot of these randoms will likely not have mics, raid knowledge, good connections, or the ability to speak the same language.
-
Then you don't get to play it then. Raids are an endgame activity meant for dedicated players. If you don't put in the effort then you do not deserve anything.
-
-
I don't care if an 'option' to turn on matchmaking for raids happen, but just consider the high failure rate of a match-made group of randoms. I don't mind the option, just as long as it isn't 'forced' matchmaking like strikes.
-
I'd rather not, I don't want to be stuck in a raid with ransoms for 18+ hours trying to get one portion of the game right.
-
If you ever think raid matchmaking can work...go do a 1020 nightfall. You'll never wish for it again.
-
Now division 2 did something similar for there first raid but more of a newb mode where you didn't have to do certain mechanics. But if you ever played that and took part you'd know why it should never be a thing in this game. 1- gotta know or learn the encounters. 2- certain encounters if not all require communication, can you imagine going into a raid and three or four people don't even talk. Well I've been there on division no thanks 😂. 3- you need to know who's doing what in a encounter let's take last wish for example doing the puzzles or the vault how are you supposed to know the other symbols and who's going where when you have all these variables from explainion 1 and 2. Just won't go well having any sort of matchmaking in this game for raids.
-
Just go to LFG and say, taking any players. That would basically be matchmaking. Good luck.
-
Most randoms still can't even figure out the ball mechanics in corrupted. You think they can be trusted to do Last Wish under no obligation to use a mic?
