Anybody els miss the days where Rocket launchers and Light machine guns where usable in against bosses in pve?! I think it’s about time to blow the dust off this thunderlord, Tbh there’s not a single exotic rocket launcher that can put out good boss damage. Also side note , fix that death bringer , cool concept but dear god the weapon is trash. Needs a complete rework or a buff from hell lol

Meh. Increase Rocket Mag size from 1 to 2. Increase special weapon DPS with good builds to make it more worthwhile to have an MG for add clear. Here’s how I imagine each of the weapon types: Linear Fusion Rifles: Precision DPS monsters Rocket Launchers: High DPS with decent add clear. Grenade Launchers: Good DPS and Add Clear midground Machine Guns: Low DPS but good total damage, excellent add control. Swords: High DPS and Good add control, but requires you to get up close. Exotics break the mold. Wardcliff: Good Burst DPS and Improved Add Clear. - keep 1 rocket in the magazine, but Increase blast damage slightly. Two-Tailed Fox: Good Balance between accuracy and damage. - boost impact damage and increase the duration of both effects. - Catalyst allows you to press and hold Y to independently track two targets at once. Truth: damage sacrificed for Extreme Accuracy and utility - Slight shift from impact damage to blast damage and a slight boost to blast radius. Deathbringer: Excellent AOE damage and denial. - reduce the fall distance to reach max HP, increase the aggressiveness on tracking Ultra enemies, and boost orb blast radius. Thunderlord: modest Improvements to AOE add clear and Boss Damage. Xenophage: Sacrifice Add clear to improve DPS. Half way between MG and GL. Heir Apparent: Tank weapon. High add clear and defense at the cost of mobility. Machine Guns beat all other weapons at Add Clear and are only beat out for total damage by Swords. The key to their success is the DPS options in the Special Slots. When Izanagi’s was top tier, MG was a good compliment. A good and reliable DPS build can utilize the MG as a way to tear through Majors and common adds. Their success is tied to the possible DPS options in the other slots and the types of encounters designed and Bungie has decided to move away from both of these favoring Heavy to be your designated DPS slot and having large set-piece boss encounters.

D2’s GL replaced D1’s RL 🤷♂️ I still don’t understand wtf GL are the only weapons in this game that are affected by gravity, even arrows thrown at infinity are not. 🧐 Well except for pvp where bullets curve behind walls! 🤔

Unimaginable that this is a top post. LMG's are not for DPS. First, yes. Secondly, oh wait Xenophagget. Most LMG's are not, by their nature meant to just dish out damage. They have incredible range and accuracy and magazines. Xeno is an exception and probably is overbuffed. Do people even think about the posts they read?

You must buy Finishers from Eververse with real money thrown at the screen because after "Sunsetting," I think your guns will be sitting in the vault when it expires. Also called Vaulted. So Melee Finishers will be the name of the game and will trump everything with a Magic Card combo kick/punch turn magic chop combo cards! . . . That's gonna be new Meta. Like OP! I used Thunderlord the other day for a bounty and realized I had been sleeping on that gun. Hammerhead is a scout/sniper/MG all in one, it’s a shame it’s being sunset. The Seraph LMG is a decent alt option but really needs the right perks. I’m curious if Bungie would use the solar Launcher mod that increases damage as an excuse not to buff the archetype. Not to mention cluster bombs are still utterly useless.

They also need to revert the range nerf that hit low impact fusions due to erentil. They were already bad enough as is.

I'm just saying, you guys have to remember how the base game was designed that has caused a lot of poor decisions in this game. Also how they have been nerfing our Guardians to make things seem more of a "challenge". Keep that in mind when asking for any buffs because buffs are not what this company is focusing on at all.

Agree with the rocket launchers, they definitely need some love. But I think LMG's serve a different purpose in PvE. I think they are pure ad clearing machines, think like 21%, it's definitely made for just wiping out every red bar in existence. RL's have so few shots that they really can't ad clear well so they've always been used more as DPS than anything. LMG's have always been used to clear ads in PvE.

Linear fusion rifles need a damage buff too... nobody uses them! At all! Why waste your heavy slot for something that barely beats out a kinetic bow.

Rockets definitely need a damage buff. They had their damage nerf back in the days of auto-reloading, but now that we can no longer do that, they need to see a relatively massive buff, something like 50%. I'm on the fence with LMGs, I think they are in a really good place for add control which includes taking down majors. I don't think these weapons necessarily need to also be boss killing machines.

Using a rocket launcher for dps in any raid is basically sabotaging your team at this point. Lunafaction nerf killed rockets.

Rockets, then HGLs, then GLs, now swords. I'm guessing we will see another RL meta st some point soon. I think with the feedback that even with the dmg mod for RLs being still shit, we will see something soon.
