What if you want to use a Kinetic sniper/shotgun?
Do you realize that Kinetic weapons do more damage to unshielded enemies?

Special weapons are already powerful enough, as I've tried them what ever increase in damage they have is barely noticeable. They're better suited to the energy weapon slot as their higher damage invalidates the damage penalty. Furthermore simple fact of the matter is you're going to use your primary weapon more often, best it have the bonus damage.
