Primaries in this game kill entirely way too slow. I think I probably die 95% of the time to shotguns/snipers/abilities. The gunplay is absolutely abysmal and rewards 0 IQ thinking. Doesn’t take much skill to run forward and click once with a shotgun. It’s better than the double primary meta, but holy shit it’s been 5 years and pvp hasn’t progressed at all. How hard is it to do your job?

In D1 your primary wasn’t the weakest tool in your arsenal like in D2. The same hand cannons that now take 3 headshots were 1 crit and 2 body in D1 so it was much more gun on gun and less no skill cheese until the dumbf*cks ruined D1 with the final PvP update which is still the worst update in the history of FPS games IMO. Bungie can’t resist screwing things up no matter how hard they try. If they would have just fixed the recoil and bloom on console it would have been somewhat better but they had to go and nerf range and do nothing to increase damage which would have made primary gunfights a major part of combat.

IMO, scavenger perks need a nerf.
I think I probably die 95% of the time to shotguns/snipers/abilities.
Jesus Christ, you need to work on your positioning then.
How hard is it to do your job?
Very. It was a lot eaiser when there were static perk rolls, but people like you demanded they come back and take OHK weapons out of Heavy only and put the in the primary and secondary slots.

Bearbeitet von Hawpy: 10/12/2019 3:12:06 PMYou play on PC, so my experiences will be completely different to yours. From what I've played so far, primaries are in a much better spot than last season. 140 and 150 Hand Cannons, Ace of Spades in particular, feel gloriously smooth now after the recoil changes but the range reduction means you have to actually think about what engagement you go into. Scout Rifles are having a resurgence, mostly due to Randy's Throwing Knife (which is an amazing weapon in its own right), but I feel that many people using a Scout will be thinking "this is actually pretty good, I'll keep using it". The Pulse Rifle range nerf also helped Scouts, but didn't cripple Pulses. Adaptive and Aggressive frame Pulses are still very solid weapons. Bows feel great now, after the universal draw time reduction. I feel like I'm hitting the follow-up shots much more regularly as the enemy doesn't have enough time to run away or take cover. Sidearms were in a good spot beforehand, not that anyone noticed, and so were SMGs. I won't make comments on Auto Rifles because I genuinely never use them apart from Sweet Business, which isn't exactly representative of the whole class. Making minor adjustments to the consistency of Shotgun-ape strats and high-impact Fusion Rifles should put PvP in a very nice spot overall.

Haha mad cos bad

Special weapons dealing more damage is the point of them being special. Primaries are perfectly balanced (as in they fit their nich well not balanced gameplay wise perfectly)
-
It is a secondary shit fest on console. It gets old fast.
-
2 primaries is the meta play on PC rn not gonna lie, you can melt people before they even get near you with their shotguns
-
If that's your issue, hate to break it to you, but man, you REALLY need to work on your positioning game.

OP plays online game with RPG aspects and complains about balance. Especially after it was balanced for PvP during D2's first year and damn near died because of it. It's amazing that after 5 years, people still think Destiny PvP can be balanced. Twitch shooting ttk (CoD) or team shot balance is the only way to reign in OHK weaponry. And teamshot almost killed the game. For the love of god, please, play a different PvP game and stop beating the dead horse. I haven't even bought into Y3 yet and I'm just sick of seeing people complain about a 5 year old issue. When did people lose the ability to take -blam!-ing hints and take their business elsewhere if they're disatisfied?
-
I really haven't played much PVP since D1... used to max all 3 characters in IB, exotic weapon quest.... I enjoyed it.... now in D2 if PVP is part of the quest I don't even bother... was kinda hoping Gambit was going to be better but gave that up after a wile....

I thought you were talking about pve when I first read the title, I played 3 matches today and did pretty well with 2 primary weapons and no specials. My last one I came last but I blame sunshot. Disappointing in pvp but good In pve. The problem is that everyone uses special weapons and play like their life depends on it ffs it's just quickplay relax. Also izanagis with 3 scavenger perks is a bit ridiculous I would agree.
-
I don't think it's primaries that are the issue here, it's the question of why use one when you could equip a weapon that one shots and a few scavenger perks to never run out of ammo.
-
How about this, Destiny will never be balanced in PVP. If PVP was its own contained game mode with no weapons being used PVE then I’m sure Bungies would be able to balance it better. But the charm of Destiny is your awesome loot and taking into multiple activities. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. IF PVP PISSES YOU OFF THAT MUCH ID SUGGEST FINDING ANOTHER FPS GAME THAT DOESNT HAVE THE SPACE MAGIC BS DESTINY HAS TO OFFER.

The D2Y1 took actual skill. Why do you think there was a major outcry about it.
-
Damn maybe if they handt nerf HCs this wouldnt be happening

Let me introduce you to: MIDA Multi Tool Luna's Howl Blast Furnace Bygones Sacred Provenance Graviton Lance Jade Rabbit Night Watch Imperative Last Perdition Trust ....... List goes on!

llyena You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

just farm for a beloved and you’re set bro

I’m having a serious case of deja vu right now.

Special ammo is just too abundant currently; most primaries sport a competitive time to kill of around .8s. Scavenger perks being disabled in PvP would probably help with this a lot..
-
IMO as a console and PC player primaries are in a pretty good spot right now (minus Auto Rifles). Most primaries can kill in less than a second if you hit your shots. Special ammo is just entirely too common, so it makes the game feel cheaper. If they changed the ammo economy in PvP in some way, the game would feel more balanced. I'd prefer if they did it similar to D1 where there were both Special AND Heavy ammo spawns during a game, promoting primary gunfights and even more map control (like any good arena shooter). Getting several more bullets of a shotgun or sniper every time you kill someone who happens to be running ANY kind of special weapon is just insane to me. If they took it back to having special spawn on the map, then they honestly probably wouldn't even need to nerf Scav perks, and then it would also not affect PvE in any way. There's definitely a middle ground somewhere!
-
First off... Say what platform you are on. I mostly die to HC's or pinnacle weapons.
-
I've said it for years, Year 1 of D1 had it right with the primary deadliness. It's not even that the ttk was much faster, it definitely was with a few weapons, but it was just over all consistency. In year 1 we didn't have bullshit like bloom and ghost bullets, everything had consistency, and everything had range. We need to go back to that.
