This will continue and in fact worsen until Bungie invests in their players and community for dedicated servers. Just like every other respected competitive game.

Report them to xbox or Sony: https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/251649-accounts-subscriptions/suggestions/6593960-xbox-live-complaint-system-include-video-when-rep https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/help-library/my-account/parental-controls/how-to-file-a-complaint-against-another-playstation-network-user/ Then report them to the FBI: https://tips.fbi.gov/

You don’t get DDOSed you get DOSed, big difference. You needa be really skilled to be able to DDOS someone. And it usually isn’t over a video game.

People get hit offline in every single type of FPS game out there. Nothing is different with destiny.

AAA game, $500,000,000 franchise budget.... uses online technology OVER A DECADE OLD.

Bungie - A small group of player wants a competitive scene, what should we do? 1 - Change the weapons system to make shotties and snipers nigh useless compared to other weapons in slot 2 - Slow down supers and other abilities everywhere! 3 - Remove random rolls! 4 - Dedicated servers! ....4 has been booted Great ideas!
-
Ranked will be AIDS and solo que will be pretty much impossible.

why do you think the PC players quit? They were hoping to jump in early to a competitive PVP style of play and after the numerous disconnects and hacks they all quit.

Spooky Trials with DDOS, lag switching, and an unsuspecting Acrius up your a**. Logic😄

My friends and I got DDosed on our first fresh card on friday and then we all just decided play fortnight. We just want to squad up without getting IP flooded every week :/
-
But spooky trials will fix EVERYTHING!!

VPN works wonders. A majority of the script kiddies don't have access to large botnets. Dedicated servers are not the perfect solution to prevent a DOS; which is probably the majority of what happens on D2.
-
People aren't being DDoS'd, that involves renting computers or a botnet. They're just being DoS'd. And that can only happen if their upload speed is greater than your download speed. Buy a pfSense firewall router and you won't have to worry about it. https://store.netgate.com/SG-1000.aspx $149.00 cheapest you're going to find that's worth a damn.

Well said 👍 not to mention all these trade kills... Maybe in 40 years when we got 0 latency internet across the world P2P might work but until then P2P is only good for emails.
-
Ranked will be pointless with the current networking model they use for PvP. I don‘t even know why they waste time with it. The playlist XP rank (like the one from Halo 3) should be enough. Why even bother with an additional actual rank based on wins and loses?
-
We live in the age of the internet... yet people don't know the difference between a Ddos and a dos... Just Sayin...
-
It appears a lot of people don't know the first 'D' stands for distributed (meaning the attack inbound comes from multiple IPs, regardless if it was triggered by a single source). I think the point is irrelevant though, as DoS and DDoS are handled similarly by various countries (where recognized as a crime).
