WHO GAVE LUKE SMITH CONTROL SERIOUSLY WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS.
Why oh why was the Bearded one in control, here is a direct quote, The formula for Destiny 2 — and the way I thought about the formula for building a Destiny game is like chili. 14 AntwortenThis isn’t Luke’s fault, at least in my eyes. He was in charge of VoG, and Taken King. Both were great. This guy has 1000s of hours in D1, one of the highest numbers. Mark Noseworthy on the other hand, hasn’t. I’m of the opinion Bungie wanted to create a game THEY liked and THEY wanted to play. You’re just here for the ride.

3 AntwortenHe was involved on 2 of the raids many consider to be some of the best parts of the Destiny franchise. The man has some talent. While I may not like the new direction of Destiny, it's a little hard to blindly hate the dude when I look back on some of my fond Destiny memories and realize he helped develop the platform for those memories to be made.

2 AntwortenI have a difficult time in understanding how this thread is in any way productive or constructive. It seems to really just be making fun of Luke Smith. We're all human and we all make mistakes. Stop bashing on specific individuals, especially when we weren't there for the meetings and behind closed doors so we really don't know if "he" is the one to blame for "X" or "Y". I'm all for making the game better but why are we making fun of somebody's beard and looks. Kind of low if you ask me. Stay classy guardians. Cornholio

It's likely one of those cases where he can't come out and blame Bungie for the direction the game has taken but he probably would if it didn't mean losing his job. He was lead on TTK which was the franchise's highest point. I can't imagine what we're playing now is solely his vision.

Clearly this didn’t happen. That means that either he didn’t know what he was doing for TTK, or he managed to get hit by a bus sometime during d2’s development.

Players who are gone won't come back, and bungie could lose the people who are playing. Let's give them room to fail or succeed. Let them do it in peace. My take on him is ... I think he genuinely cares and could be good at hius job (in regards to what community wants). He's an old school MMO nerd and was lead for lots of what was very successful in D1. Once he got lead of D2 ... i think he's just Mr. Corporate. He just listens like a good boy and does what he's told. Implements what they (Activision and Bungie higher ups) want very effectively. Does ruffle feathers because he's got a great job and great pay... so why m was with it. I'm sure in Activision/Bungie's eyes he succeeded in what was expected of him, which is why he'll stay where he's at and keep it up. Just watch/listen to some of his videos years ago in regards to Destiny and some of his more recent... You can just see that he fell in line with corporate mentality. Almost like gave up fighting for what he (and many) wanted the game to become. Probably got sick of hearing "no" and "not gonna happen". Or no "that's too ambitious and where can we monetize that?" I've personally seen it in jobs I've had and looks very similar
