The portal is a symptom of larger problems that existed before it. Lack of direction Lack of competent leadership Lack of long term planning Bungie have been a mess for years ever since they left Microsoft. D1 was meant to be like cod where every few years we get a new game so byngie wasn't allowed to use newer stuff hence the old engine and p2p system. D2 while ok on release was built with the idea that a D3 would happen within a few years so they never bothered with a real long term plan. Than when they left Activision they just couldn't become efficient in any regard unless you count burning money. Than over the years they have been barely keeping their heads above water. Than they got extra capital and instead off being smart and making a few small single player games to help make profit they burnt it all faster than a gambling addicts bank account. Let's face it if Sony didn't aquire them Than bungie likely would have already shut down. The entire upper management need replacing and studio restructuring.
