I thought that I could knock out 2 rewards in one go by playing Survival, as for one of the weekly challenges you must play competitive modes in the crucible. I completed 3 survival matches and got the 7 round wins for the powerful tier 1 reward. But, when I check the crucible area, it still says I have a pinnacle reward to earn. Turns out, "Complete matches in 'any' Crucible playlist" doesn't include Survival, which is part of the Crucible!! Bungie logic... it hurts to question it!!
