I'm a console player, played since d1. Crimson days is usually my favorite event, except I think it won't be this season. The meta is mainly to blame for that, although you should note that I am referring to the console meta, and not the PC meta. Warlocks need a motha-blam!-in nerf y'all. Handheld nova with contraverse comes back in literally 2 seconds and it requires no aim or skill. The tracking daybreak doesn't have to come anywhere close to you, whether in the air or on the ground, for it to kill you. Not to mention the fact that the "united" debuff in the crucible gives you all your abilities way too fast and it just feels like d1 ability spam. Next is the weapons. The scout rifle, sidearm and fusion rifle meta is not for me. There's mildly annoying guns here and there, but sidearms kill way too fast and scout rifles produce so much flinch that you automatically lose if you're a decent bit away from them. Shotguns seem to always miss a few pellets if you are moving, nomatter how close you are or what perks your shotgun has. Finally the matchmaking: bungie gotta fix this shit. We got killed by a team in crimson days 3-0 and our kills were low every round. Bungie's matchmaking system immediately put us against that team again, so we got destroyed 2 games in a row, by the same team, which shouldn't be happening. Also, if someone you're fighting has a bad connection, you almost always get shot through a wall, or die after you already killed them. Playing someone with bad connection is just awful and it's difficult to win considering you can't use cover since they can shoot you around it. Crimson days just doesn't seem as fun this year, and I'm excluding the fact that bungie reused a bunch of the rewards from last year. I can't stand pvp right now which sucks because I typically enjoy it a ton more than pve, but I guess I won't be going any higher than mythic this season, or playing crimson days after I complete everything, since the pvp meta right now is just unbearable on console.
