Should Nintendo Develop Games For Other Systems?
How would you feel about the idea of Nintendo deciding to stop producing home consoles, and instead developing games that will be officially sold for and playable on PC, PlayStation and Xbox?
We're not talking about the 3DS or anything like that. Those are great. We're just talking about systems like the Wii and Switch.

No. Playing Nintendo games on a PS or Xbox would just feel [b][u]wrong[/u][/b].

It depends on how the switch does. If the switch flops and that's the final try for Nintendo, then they should make games for other consoles. However, I feel like the switch will do well and they should keep producing for that. Even if the switch does well, I still think that the best way Nintendo can kick off again is if they make a home console that can play Nintendo games, as well as third party games such as Cod, battlefield, and all of that good stuff to keep people coming back

Yes. Since I can't afford the Switch I would love the new Metroid game to be on Xbox too

I don't think they'll have much of a choice if the switch flops. It's sad though, from the NES to the GC Nintendo kept up with Sony and SEGA. I can see how they managed to fall so far behind, falling out with Sony and having to use cartridges on the N64, choosing mini disks for the GC just as MP3 became a thing and made mini disks redundant and finally not having online multiplayer just as that became a thing... But focusing on gimmicks isn't going to save them. I wish they'd release a console with the power of the XBoneS and PSPro and made games to take advantage of it, like they did with GC and earlier consoles.

Yes! OMG, imagine all the money they could make for Pokémon on mobile phones. But no, they'd rather use their great brand to sell $300 game boys.

That would be them giving up, and Nintendo is stubborn. They are never giving up on making the same games over and over.

Not sure to be honest how I'd feel as long as the games where still the games I knew and loved then I guess I'd be fine with it. Though I'd kinda like to see how Certain games would look on stronger machines.

1 OdpowiedźOnly as a last resort. That's what Sega did after the Dreamcast went downhill and look at them now, still standing strong. But 1 less console per generation is a bad thing. A monopoly will cause another video game crash because of the lack of game system variety.

It is not about having eye popping graphics, or having the yearly 3rd party AAAs, Nintendo was never about that, it was about [i][b]having fun[/b][/i]. The ideas they want to portrait [b][i]CAN'T BE DONE ON OTHER CONSOLES[/i][/b] because it doesn't suit their vision.

If anything they should stop with the gimmicks and realease a good console thats on par with the ps4 and xbox one that way they could get games like cod, overwatch and others that they probably don't have now plus their exclusives i mean Nintendo has the potential to take over the market but o well

Even if they could become only a software developer, they might still be reluctant to even work with Sony. Especially after the debacle that was the Nintendo Play Station. That's right. The PS1 was almost a Nintendo console. But that deal went sour, and eventually led to the creation of the PS1. Also, Xbox does not sell as well as the PS4 in Japan, so Nintendo of Japan might not risk developing anything for it, leading to a drought of content.

Nope. If they did, their consoles would fail and they would turn into another Sega story. They're better off keeping the one thing that makes them relevant.
