Swords don't block???
When you block, you [b]spend ammo and still take damage![/b] I just don't get it. They also have a [b]1/3 chance of taking MORE damage[/b] (huge issue in crucible). They're useless for crucible, useless on most bosses, and overkill on weaker enemies. They only seem good for killing majors :(
Either blocking should be free or blocking should stop ALL damage.

In my opinion swords should be buffed. Why? 1. Heavy damage can instantly deplete the sword's ammunition and stun the wielder while blocking damage. 2. Swords are only useful at close and point-blank range, and therefore easily countered, whereas rocket launchers and machine gunners require focused fire due to their potential to score multikills with ease. The buffs I would be comfortable with: 1. Heavy damage can stun the wielder but only deplete a small amount of sword ammo while blocking. 2. 50% extra damage resistance vs. hit-scan damage while wielding the sword. 3. 33% extra damage resistance vs. projectile and area-of-effect damage while wielding the sword. 4. 25% extra damage resistance vs. damage-over-time while wielding the sword. Also: The sword itself and its hilt are recognised as separate weapons.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Machey19: 10/29/2015 1:01:34 PMblocking is op as hell. you can block tank shots from a goliath or a walker. and ive blocked rockets in pvp as long as its not the same damage type. arc sword will block void and solar rockets no problem. ya just gotta know what situation is right to block versus when to run.

5 OdpowiedziThey can block Crota's oversoul and you want them buffed? I use em on strikes and block over to ammo I need or while reviving people and I'm literally invincible.

My character tosses a grenade or does nothing when I try to block.

3 OdpowiedziYou will take 1/3 damage if you are shot by the damage type that matches your blade. You lose ammo on blocking based on the damage element and damage type you're blocking. Explosion damage will take big chunks out of your ammo because it will get multiple "hits" on the block cone. The ammo cost to blocking is to discourage you from blocking indefinitely as you will be wasting potential damage.

2 OdpowiedziAll I want is them to make the hit registration more clear and instant. It's not terrible right now, but typically the numbers don't show up until a second after you hit them. I've also had countless times where I've hit an npc or another player, literally a direct hit, and it did zero dmg. It's not as consistent as I'd like it to be, but still extremely effective.

2 OdpowiedziI blocked a golden gun shot. Expended full ammo and he killed me second shot but if i can block that than its just fine.

Depending on the elemant that it damaging your sword it will block or just depleat ur ammo quickly & kill u.. Each sword blocks 2 elememts & the 3rd will utterly melt u still . Usually the ememeent your sword is will b the damage type that will kill u quickest

Swords aren't meant for crucible first off. They block 1/3 of the impact. Splash damage is unblockable. They're meant for killing Majors, and even some Ultras like Omnigul when she's tethered.

4 OdpowiedziYeah that's a problem. Why give me a shield if it's not going to stop the enemy from damaging me. I can shoot a cabal shield ALL day and he will still be back there letting off rounds. That's another thing, I have a flaming, or void, or arch sword. Why can't it cut through cabal shields?

Splash damage hits you. Pretty much any solid projectile with no splash is blockable. I was able to stand almost in front of Valus Tau'arc and block his machine gun with 0 problems.

It's perfect as it is. I think some people complain about it because they did not realize that blocking an element with the same element drains energy dramatically. Example: i use arm edge on my hunter, i survived and kill someone who tries to Truth me, but killed by another guy who used an arc shotgun to kill me (you will stagger when fail to block)

They can block hell in a rare occasion if you are lucky they can block a hammer it happen to me I use my SB and I through one of the hammers and this hunter nock it out of the air with it sword.

I think swords are mostly fine aside from the anoyance of attacking certain enemies and they get left with a sliver of health. I do think blocking takes way too much ammo to do though
