In truth, I did find this mechanic to be an annoyance throughout D2 raids (still do) and I just miss dearly the old mechanic of the 30-second timer for res. But when Playing the Legendary campaign helping others get to finish the final encounter, never have I despised this mechanic as before. Seriously, it was frustrating when losing 2 tokens and having to wipe because there was no point in continuing or basically getting killed by the timer when you are so literally close to soloing Savathun. "Yes, I am so clo- darkness F-K you!
I was able to beat it solo with an SMG as a hunter of all things. But that took 38 tries. Just to add I also hate the timers in missions but that's a rant for another day.
Edit-1:
Thank you for the positive comments. Yes, I understand is part of the challenge of Legendary but at the same time is just too punishing when other factors add to the challenge. Being Killed by architects or broken ankles. I would also add the enemy weapon/ability spamming but that would probably make others hate me for it. I just don't like it that each of us holds 1 token, so when two tokens are already used it is still a wipe especially since you already put in a whole lot of damage into the boss.
PS. why doesn't it show the damage after getting wiped? That could really help out if there needs to change the load out
Edit-2: Just to make this clear, I don't have an issue with the difficulty, I just have an issue with being wipe when you don't have any more tokens.

What i do not get is y we still have this res mechnic right form the start of d2 people have ben saying we should not have it in riads then bungle adds it to legendary lost sectors y add this mechnic to more content if no one wants it in pve

When playing the Legendary campaign, play by yourself if your teammates suck
-
1 ReplyD1 raids hit different
-
2 RepliesThat is your taste of GMs. If you can't handle it, switch to an easier setting.
-
Community: "Put more challenging activity in the game" also Community, after Bungie added some challenging activitys: "waaa i'm so annoyed it is too difficult waaaa" Get good and stop whining ffs
-
1 Replyliterally just git gud, it's not an issue if you're good at the game
-
What's tokken? Is it like Tekken?
/s
-
1 ReplyIn master raids you should get more rez tokens from killing champions
-
2 RepliesEdited by royalpriest: 3/15/2022 12:25:13 PMBungie has been designing for the hard-core / non-causual player for years. If you have a full-time job, just play games for fun, and maybe want to play another game sometimes; you'll constantly be annoyed by the Destiny 2 design choices: revive limits, wipes, walling adept rewards behind grandmaster and trials, no queues for raids, kill X hundreds to level/for bounty/catalyst/..., repeat X dozens of times to level/for bounty/catalyst/..., etc.

1 Replytotally fine , limited res is what make raids easy and not a tutorial like the rest of the game
-
5 RepliesSo you want no risks involved? I mean that's about all I'm reading.
-
should've been gm nightfall mechanic, not raids. It wasn't that hard sure, but it kinda annoyed playing with newers.
-
Its way better then what it was in D1.

Keep the token system for legend if they want. Remove rez timer and problem solved. You already deal less damage in an activity that activity increases in difficulty the more players present. Why punish players for dying? Could've just said "oh your teammate died? Now you have to solo this boss and 3 mini bosses whenever you want to do damage to the boss."
i know that question sounds stupid but you get my point.
1 ReplyI only chose Get Gud because I feel like a "No" answer is to throw my hat in with the "needs to be changed" argument. I'm sure plenty of people agree with you. I personally think it was the best option for making it more difficult without doing something that might discourage so many people from doing it. Harder mechanics and bigger power gaps would certainly discourage people. Why waste time developing something with 100% of the players' money for just 1% of the players to enjoy. Balance is key, and this was a good solution to balance things out. I actually thought the tokens (and rally banners) were an awesome addition. So many newer players will go into their first raid (and other activities) with a better understanding of the rules of the game now. Making the campaign feel closer to a collection of mini dungeons is what I feel sets this expansion apart from everything bungie has done in the last 7 years.

1 ReplyIt’s legendary content, and it’s supposed to be hard. People need to play smart and practice playing their lives. I do a-lot of GM nightfalls, and the play style is similar. Sure, not for everyone, but I think it is a good challenge.
-
2 rez tokens per person would be better.
-
Mostly for base raids, it's a dumb mechanic that makes it harder to teach new players and it removes those hero moments, were 1 player is alive and they manage to res the whole team. For prestige raids it makes sense.
-
Rez tokens aren't great. But, to comment on your other mention about the final mission and helping others and having burned Rez tokens...doing the final mission legendary with 3 people is just asking for pain. The boss has so much health
-
The Legendary campaign RES limit and 30 second timer “both” suck. I don’t get why they have to ruin something pretty good with something completely stupid.
-
The rez token mechanic is the absolute worst.
-
I’d prefer it if the revives were pooled. Been burned by having people die while they have the last token(s) more than a few times. And the timer is just a nuisance
-
I dont mind the tokens, per se.... I would be happy if Bungie scrapped the Rez timer though.
-
I'd hate that too if I was a guardian
-
Makes it harder. Or just play the normal campaign.
