I doubt it's any easier. People usually have endless supers so Weapons/Blessing Waldo for Dawn. Shadowshot. Stormcaller or Voidwalker. Sunbreaker. Take care of all adds that might spawn. All the groups I've played with we never have adds from the middle reach the totems anyway. You're already at the totems so you're not running to and from centre. But you got to take a coupke minutes and walk in and out of the water with your sword. Then you still have to sit there long enough for the runes to charge. Doing totems normally takes 3 minutes. Being on the Totem by yourself will never be hard. You have maybe 20-30 Acolytes that spawn throughout the entire encounter and one Boomer Knight every 30 seconds which goes done with 1-2 sniper shots.
