I have never done the cheese before either till today, never needed to do it since the totems are easy as fuk. Someone in the group asked if we was gonna cheese it, and some said sure and I was like why not. Honestly it's slightly faster, and I would say easier . If your in a group and choose to cheese it, and fail "even once" I would highly recommend leaving or kicking who ever died. [spoiler]git good[/spoiler]
