You can watch the whole video. It is very informative and he talks about interesting stuff.
But if you go to 6:30. They are talking about voice chat.
He says, since you can come into contact with anyone, and someone that you don't know ect. He says they can ruin your game with voice chat (I presume he means story wise).
So you can only talk to people with voice chat in your fire team. He later goes on to describe how we can communicate with people outside our fire team also. He also says this is in game. And that you can still invite people into a platform party, like Xbox Live party or PSN party.
What do y'all think about this? Is this ok, or is it a mistake?
After, he talks about the voice chat, the interviewer goes on to ask that this will have a ripple affect on other things in the game. Bakken then says that you can have up to a six person team. So does that mean 2 fireteams of 3 players? Or does it mean one big fireteam of 6?

1 Replyhe probably means a fireteam of 6, all communicating on the same channel. which is great. this means that raid teams will have game-supported chat ability, and possibly that if you create a 6-man team to take into multiplayer, you will be able to talk to them in-game as well. so if this is true, most people's worries over not being able to chat in multiplyer just means that they will have to be socially involved outside of multiplayer and it won't even matter

I like it. Talk with friends and actually have a use for those actions on the D-pad during Public Events.

YESSSS this is awesome no more BLOODY 13 year old!!!
-
2 RepliesOk but what if I run into this hot looking Warlock and she is waving at me and shaking her cape. So I follow her into a dark cave and I'm frantically trying to send her a friend request when I look up and BLAM nova bombed by Jessica.

1 ReplyYes I don't have to hear mini year olds. So annoying
-
1 ReplyIt kind of ruin the thing with the game being always connected and meeting people everywhere... I mean, why meet people if you can't communicate with them without going through all the hassle with inviting them? Sometimes it's just fun to hang out with random people in game. If it would be disturbin then why not have an option for muting everybody except the people on your fireteam? Conclusion, I will miss that function. :C

1 ReplyI find the six player teams, whether that is a maximum or just the norm, to be perfectly fine. The chat situation, however, is not good at all. While it does make your own personal experience better by default, it also makes the process of being more social and cooperating with others extremely difficult, which goes against Destiny's push for cooperative play and teamwork. A wrote up a thread explaining in greater detail.

6 RepliesThis was long overdue. With today's online atmosphere it's better to have restricting voice chat be the default and have the option of enabling it rather than the other way around. Makes a much better online experience that way.
-
I assumed by ruining the game he meant that people can be annoying as hell.
-
1 ReplyIts exciting to see what kind of chat system will be implemented and how your fireteam chat will work with those outside of it! I generally always sit in xbox live party's anyway so hopefully with my understanding of what they explained it wont effect fire teams but a good in game chat can be just as good as a party anyway.
-
I'm fine with 3
-
3 RepliesI wish the fire squads would reach a limit of ten people but then people would take all the loot
-
3 RepliesThis was put into the game so we adults don't have to listen to 9 year olds. So yes, this is a marvelous thing. Also, he means 1 fireteam = maximum of 6 people.
