vanguard commendation???
Can somebody explain the vanguard commendation thing to buy armour from the vanguard????

2 RepliesYou get them when you rank up vanguard past rank 3. However I unless there is something you really want from the vanguard don't use it. Save it for when HoW drops so you can convert it to 250 rep.

They already capped the marks there is no reason to do this as well. They took away the ability to sell resources for marks to force you play things you might not want to. They could have kept it up along with the current marks for resources. It seems like every time they update they find a way to make it more of a grind to make up for their lack of story. If this doesn't change with HoW I'm pretty much done with this crappy game and Bungie.

3 RepliesYou get one at level 3 and every level after that. It's stupid, why not just make the helmet and chest level 3 or something? Don't try and make it like I accomplished something while playing a grind game.

1 ReplyThey are level parachutes to keep you from being able to buy your gear all at once. Because the 100 mark a week, 200 mark cap and 25k glimmer caps don't slow you down enough.

3 RepliesOnce you reach level 3 in Vanguard ranking, you can continue to earn additional ranking beyond that. Ecah time you do you will get a little Care package in the mail. In that mail will be a Commendation. You can use it to purchase weapons that requite it. FYI, if you are working on another faction other than Vanguard, you will receive the care packages, but not the commendation.

A Vanguard Commendation is a valuable unit of currency, acquired from a Vanguard rank-up reward package. These packages are sent to the Postmaster each time your Vanguard reputation reaches a new rank (starting at Rank 3, then every 2500 reputation earned). Vanguard Commendations are used in combination with Vanguard Marks to purchase Legendary Vanguard weapons, helmets, and chest armor. Commendations are not required for Vanguard gauntlets or boots. Related Currency: Crucible Commendation - "A commendation for your assistance. Can be redeemed for powerful Crucible gear."

It's dumb every time you level up vanguard crucible or faction you'll get a commendation which is required for the new weapons and chest/helmet gear

The whole commendation system was a mistake. Hopefully they will give me something to with them along with the 436 shards I have. Bungie smarten up for HoW.

3 RepliesGetting to the first lvl is not that easy if you play part-time. I joined a faction by mistake due to not under standing it all and just change to vanguard, with limited bounties each day and so on it's a slow slog.

4 RepliesYou get a commendation for each rank 3+. You need to have a commendation to buy chest or head armor and any weapon. You spend the commendation buying one of these items and you must then rank up the faction again to buy another item. Commendations can be transferred between characters so if you are later gearing up an alt you can send them over from your main to help out.

6 RepliesThis is so stupid. I'm already Vanguard rank 3 and now I have to go higher to buy anything? So you get 1 commendation per vanguard level? Once you get the commendation is it something earned like rank or is it a currency to be spent?

Every time you rank up, you get a commendation. You have to get above rank 3 to get those commendation tho.

6 RepliesWhen you rank up with Vanguard or any of the factions you get one commendation. You have to have it to buy some (most) items now. They wanted to slow down progression is my guess.
