All these fools in here completely ignoring the issue op is bringing to light, just to put him down to make themselves feel better for a few minutes.

No. We just know that the experience is just as important if not more than the loot.
-
Edited by Doctor_Roidberg: 3/3/2020 3:47:07 AMYeahhh no it’s not. Once you’ve exhausted the content the loot is what keeps it fresh. Season of the Dawn has absolutely jack shit in the way of content, so I’ve been running Reckoning and Menagerie for weapon rolls. God roll grinding keeps the game alive when the content runs dry. And if there’s no longer any point in getting the god rolls because they’ll be invalidated in three seasons? Well, shit. Running Scourge for my 90th clear is a whole lot less of a fun experience than the first few. But going for the Rapid Hit Box Breathing No Feelings? That’s worth running it.
-
This position is paradoxical thinking... the only thing that keeps the game fresh is grinding for god rolls but you don’t want to lose god rolled weapons... so at some point you are out of weapons to grind for because you have all the god rolls because loot has an indefinite shelf life... unless Bungie prunes the weapon pool some to give you new things to grind for... it’s just nonsensical. I loved loved loved scathelock during year 1... it’s still in my vault masterworked and I can pull it out and use it on cheap strikes anytime I want. I haven’t yet found a 600 auto that feels as good to me. But I haven’t used it in a year or more... maybe I’ll try it again when autos get a buff... but what I’d like more is for Bungie to take ALL year 1 weapons out of play for a couple of seasons and mix them in to new seasons with reworked perks to let the live well again for awhile instead of gathering dust and using compu cycles in the vault.
-
It’s literally not, because Bungie simply needs to, I don’t know, actually think outside the box? Make more weapons like Martyr’s Retribution? Make more interesting perk combinations? Introduce new perks? Put perks on things that wouldn’t normally have them? Explosive Payload on a 360 RPM auto rifle? Disruption Break on kinetic weapons other than Arbalest? More than one f*cking rocket in Rocket Launchers? Maybe dip into some of the old Raid weapon perks, Sign of Four, Wait for It, Triple Double? But no, we have all the god rolls already. Yeah, that’s it. Your point about your Scathelocke is moot. Your Scathelocke can still be infused up to max, and used in any activity. Bungie is planning on the OPPOSITE to be true. And the only thing that might make your Scathelocke “obsolete” is a 600 rpm Kinetic Auto with a better roll. Hence the loot portion of the looter shooter. Why would you be satisfied with Bungie telling you you have to go get your god rolled version of the same weapon again just because they don’t want you to have your old one? It’s laziness so they can recycle the same perks and archetypes while still acting like these weapons are “new.”

Uhm the loots not going anywhere though, its just gonna have a cap, and that loot will still be in the pool and can drop again just by playing, D1 had the same cap and guess what, no one died
-
Edited by Doctor_Roidberg: 3/3/2020 10:57:13 AMYeah nah bud. D1 has caps on things like Year 1 Fatebringer and Her Benevolence. Her B was still being used in Crucible and looked GREAT at a phatt 170 Light Level next to all the 400 gear. Absolutely ranked your light level. And Fatebringer was out of the endgame permanently until Age of Triumph. There was literally a Fatebringer .com begging to bring it back in TTK. Now in D2? Surprise, it’s WORSE. All the D1 weapons that got locked to year 1 often had static rolls, and the game was in its first year, so there weren’t a lot of people to care. Plus they’d only had said weapons for one year. Fast forward to now in D2, some people have been using Midnight Coup since freakin Vanilla. And we’re Un year 3. 2 years people have been using this gear, farming for hours for the perfect god rolls, MASTERWORKING THEM which is a costly endeavor, and racking up as many kills as they can get on that kill tracker to show just how much they use/enjoy that weapon. I never put Better Devils down in Year 1. Recently got my perfect roll of Outlaw Kill Clip. Bungie can pry it from my cold dead hands. “Oh but you can still use it” what, you think I’m gonna -blam!-ing pull it out of a LIMITED SPACE VAULT to use it in a LEGACY STRIKE while I have something else for the actual current content like Raids. BS dude.
-
And you kinda made the point then leave that better devils there and use the NEW weapon isnt that a bit more exciting than clinging on to the same old weapon for the next 2 years??? Or is that piece of data reeeeeeaaally that important? Btw yes the year1 stuff got left waaay behind but there were tons of new good stuff and isnt that wat its about, progress. Or should we just chill where we are now so we dont lose a gun in a game in exchange for something new you might like even more. Thats just being complacent
-
You’re ignoring that: yes, I like Better Devils. Better Devils SPECIFICALLY, despite the fact that Austringer has better base stats and can get Outlaw Rampage, which is arguably better. I have Masterworked said Better Devils, and shelling out more Cores on a new weapon to replace said Better Devils simply because Bungie decided it’s time was up is idiotic And Kill Trackers exist. People rack up thousands of kills on these weapons. People want to keep going with them. People don’t want to shelve them. That’s a fact.
-
So you wana tell me if destiny runs for another 5 years, which i doubt youd rather then just keep that gun then
-
Unless they make something that’s more effective or looks cooler? Yeah, I’ll stick with my BD until the sun sets on D2. Sure, I use other things than just that. Every slot of my inventory is filled save one, on every character. But I love my Better Devils, thank you very much. I’ve put 2700+ hours in D2 with a BD in my inventory, and I got no problem putting in another 2700 so long as I got my stuff.
-
Okay then well you can still do that just not in new activities, oh well, it seems like its gonna hapoen eitherway, it might be for the best whos to know
-
Me. And most people. Considering the upvotes.
-
Most people are not on the forums😉
-
Your insinuation that you stand with a silent majority has just as much evidence to back it up as me saying that I am the emperor of China. You say most people aren’t on the forums, thus expressing no opinion on the matter, yet believe they agree with you. That’s not evidence of such. Just like I can say I’m the emperor of China, even if I supply no evidence for it.
-
Also agreeing with the majority is not evidence of fact, you might have to revisit the meaning of fact my guy, it just means you have a popular opinion, that popular opinion might still be wrong, yet another assumption
-
Majority is not facts? The fact I stated is that the majority agrees with me according to the polls on this forum. That’s a fact. If you can’t accept that I don’t know what to tell you. Now you’re saying I’m just being stubborn, which is pretty funny.
-
I dont get why you get sooo triggered about data in a game which will be shelved anyways in a few years most probably, diligently hanging on to that nothingness to express meaningfullness to your life would suggest that you would love to be the emperor of China, since imagenary things are of great value to you, you just assume things and and what i say and fit them to your narative when its not that shallow, i litterally said not everyones on the forum not stating their opinion in the least you just assumed, everyones opinions differ and everyones matter but the fact that you value your opinion more important than others based on a poll or survey, thats the farce here
-
Edited by Doctor_Roidberg: 3/4/2020 11:28:43 AM“I value my opinion more than a poll or survey?” Now you’re projecting. My opinion agrees with the poll/survey, because that’s what’s here on these forums. You stated that the majority of players aren’t on the forums, insinuating a silent majority that contradicts the poll/survey that is present on this site. You’re contradicting yourself. And I’m simply stating the facts my guy. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/255367900/0/0
-
Opinion and majority is not facts my guy, lol. And before you go and assume again, im also not saying your wrong, all im saying is why throw a fit before trying it, thats just being plain stubborn
-
Majority is not facts? The fact I stated is that the majority agrees with me according to the polls on this forum. That’s a fact. If you can’t accept that I don’t know what to tell you. Now you’re saying I’m just being stubborn, which is pretty funny.
-
You just keep assuming at face value
-
Edited by Doctor_Roidberg: 3/4/2020 11:55:21 AMTell that to the polls. Assuming that the polls are wrong because the silent majority aren’t vocalizing their side is more of an assumption than going off of solid evidence.
-
Omg live by the polls and you shall die by the polls, do you judge all your decisions on polls, they might be wrong you know😂 omg once again not saying anyone is wrong or right, why not judge it after you tried it, does the polls have to tell you how to make that decision or can you do it on your own
-
Gee, I dunno, maybe because Bungie has fried weapon shelving before? Her Benevolence, Murmur, the Stranger’s Rifle, D1 Year One exotics? Veterans have seen infusion caps on weapons before. It’s not a good feeling, and this is gonna be way worse than D1 Y1.
