I didn't suffer for this.
I didn't suffer using tripple grenade launchers in the crucible to get a mountaintop (before the progress patch) with an expiration date attached to it.
I didn't suffer through comp playing against luna's howl and getting good enough to beat it (without having it and before it was nerfed) just to get a "you must dismantle after 9 months".
I didn't suffer soloing to legend just to get a not forgotten that will be forgotten within 9 months.
I didn't suffer grinding for hours to get wendigo just for that to be thrown to the wayside.
I didn't suffer through gambit matches to get 21% delirium just to have you guys make it 0% delirium in 9 months.
And I sure as heck did not suffer grinding out escalation protocol when the drop rate's were atrocious just to have you tell me my weapon's are deteriorating.

The dir cut was the warm up telling us they’re going to take a giant shit on their customers. Yes we are customers. The next cut will tell us when they’re going to deuce on us. My thoughts is that I’ve players close to 3000 hrs of d2. And several hundred dollars on game and expansions. Once I know the Cleveland steam roller is getting dropped. I’m out. These shisters aren’t going to do anything until October. They way all the tendies from new annual pass sales before the drop the news.

Intentionally dropping your light 100 levels in iron banner and getting 500 kills for a fusion rifle that they gave everyone next season anyway lmfao now that was a good joke on me. If they would've been transparent and said hey we're going to give everyone this item next season anyway I would've saved myself the giant headache. That's when I learned not to grind weapons to hard because they'll prolly either just give them to everyone or make them easier to acquire... and I was right... dodged a ton of potential additional headaches rofl.

3 Replies“Suffer” is a bit much. If you use the word suffer to describe a video game, are you even having fun? Is it worth it? That being said, I agree with the sentiment. All this weapon expiration date situation means is that they don’t want to or can’t figure out a sustainable game model to support the game’s life cycle without forcibly imposing a loot cycle.

2 RepliesSeems like the forum likes to exaggerate. OP exaggerated by saying he suffered but the replies have also been over the top on the "it's a game, so playing it must be fun" point. Some of the quests Bungie "designed" were borderline "playing the game". The repetitive nature can make anything boring. How awesome and fun is the first run through a raid? Is it still fun on the 100th run trying to get the raid exotic to drop? OP still has a point which is power capping weapon is a very uninspiring move. It shows lack of commitment to innovate.

9 RepliesNine to 15 months. Stop shoe horning your narrative in. Not counting the year you already have with them. They are also still 100% usuable in Gambit/prime Strikes/low level ordeals Crucible/competitive Patrols Past raids i.e. garden, crown, scourge, and last wish. Future PvE modes at base level. A bunch of illiterate babies who overreact. Grow up this is far better for the game then weapons that will just one shot body shot ultras.
