Here's how I do public events. I join in and shoot everything I see until it's complete. Then I get loot.
It's a public event while you are out on patrol. There's only about 19 thousand of them a day.

This one is one of the more annoying ones though. Between the number of adds and having to chase the stupid thing around. Those 2 things combine make it more tedious. As opposed to the Heroic which can be done quicker and without chasing. Meanwhile, just about every OTHER heroic can be triggered by 1 or 2 guys. The people that don't know about it can rarely prevent heroic from triggering. Except for here. And maybe Glimmer farming.

I actually do always try to activate the heroics on most of them unless I'm literally there by myself, but I totally get why everyone doesn't, or simply doesn't know how to. The fact that people on here assume everyone is hardcore and/or looks up everything like them (when Bungie clearly designed Destiny 2 for the casual in mind) is beyond stupid.

It took me about 2 days of playing to understand how to trigger all the heroic events without ever looking anything up. And getting all the arc cores to the shield domes is hardcore? Blowing up a thresher is hardcore? Shooting 2 crystals while standing on a plate is hardcore? Shooting a giant sphere until it pops is hardcore? Destroying a little machine 3 times is hardcore? Killing 4 servitors is hardcore? Destroying 3 vents is hardcore? Just do the heroic and take your exotic engram like everyone else.

Millions of people play the game, and it's only been out a few weeks. Many of those millions have actual lives (you know, unlike you, they leave their mom's basement to do things). So no, they don't have all those little (albeit simple) tactics down, because they [b]don't care[/b]. Gaming isn't their life, it's a hobby, and often one of many hobbies that only takes up a handful of hours of their life. Now quit being butt hurt by the fact I'm right, and throwing a tantrum on bungie.net like you're some self-righteous SJW standing up for equal rights.

I try to activate the heroics by myself anyways lol it’s actually pretty challenging for some of them

I will do the same occasionally (or all of the time in the case of the walkers. That one isn't too hard even by yourself with the scorch cannons.)
