It should either be removed or it should be bought/earned in game. I'm not gonna drop money on emotes that have no use to me. I'm fine with just pointing at you.

  • Or let us waste other in-game resources on them, like motes, strange coins, or even legendary marks. 100 coins or 200 motes per emote, or 150 marks or something. It makes no sense to make a single universal currency to "simplify" things and then add in another that can't even be earned in-game. But of course, Bungie wouldn't be making additional money from that. On top of the $140 extended demo we already paid for, of course.

  • I honestly don't care if they do micro transactions so long as they do them right

  • Would you mind elaborating on that, just so I have a better idea of what you mean?

  • Best ways to do micro transactions of done right is make it where a player can earn them over time but make it a decent sized time. It makes it where players like me will earn it but a short cut is you but a good amount for say 15 bucks and so on.

  • Would you feel the same way if they started selling actual game-changing items? That's my biggest concern. I personally don't like microtransactions, but I can tolerate them as long as it's cosmetic items only, nothing that affects your performance in the game. For me, that's a line that, if crossed, will make me want to leave Destiny. Pay-to-win should never be a thing, ever. And yet I fear that's exactly where the industry is heading, and it troubles me.

  • That is everyone else's concern mine as well. If they do things right it be perfectly set up. It's just a matter of bungie.

So if you could, for example, buy packages of legendary marks (since those can also be earned in-game), that's the sort of set-up you mean? I honestly don't know how I feel about that, yet. I'd have to see how it played out, and how ripe for abuse it would be. As long as everyone had equal access without having to spend actual money, that would be somewhat more palatable to me.

  • My idea is say you buy a 5 pack of legendary engrams. The way too balance it is make it where it has a less chance of being good but high enough to make players want it as well. Say 5% chance that you get a good gun with amazing perks as opposed to earning one in game which will be 10% chance or higher. That would work if done correctly according to there percentage of rng.

  • Okay, I see. I like that concept quite a bit. That does balance things out nicely.

It's just a matter of if they can get it right. It's a very very fine line when it comes to that.

  • They do seem to be hit-or-miss, so we can only hope for the best, I suppose.

  • Yeah. If they do it right there will be little to no complaining. Warframe. (Another game slightly better then destiny) almost right but could be improved.
