Everyone knows you can infuse other classes gear into another. Nobody here can tell me that they have never done this.
You are running on your titan and get 315 gauntlets, your titan's gauntlets are already 317. However, your hunter's is 311. For one, I know everyone has at least once moved those 315 gauntlets to their hunter to upgrade. If so, you are a hypocrit and do the same thing this guy does. If you don't based on some ridiculous moral ground, then your stupid and only holding yourself back.

Edited by Roughneck: 11/4/2015 5:39:31 PMWhat you described is still far less beneficial than instantly being your max possible light level on all three toons through gear swapping. You are forgetting two important factors in your described infusion process: 1) you first have to get two items of equal light level or lower before you will sacrifice the redundant piece to a different class type for infusion. If you don't have the extra item, your dissimilar class toon sits and waits with whatever lower light item it has since you can't equip the single high light level item on a dissimilar class without losing it on the higher level class. 2) the light level of the redundant piece will only transfer 80% of its value during the infusion process, most always resulting in a lower light level for the infused item If you have three of the same class types, these two inefficiencies and light level discrepancies can be bypassed, thus allowing you to run all events three times at your highest possible light level.

Edited by Dooodley: 11/4/2015 7:18:03 PMThe kicker here is that people with one of each in many cases have a higher combined light level than those with three of the same. The RNG gap is too wide to be bridged by the ability to swap gear between characters.
-
Edited by Roughneck: 11/4/2015 7:32:45 PMThat's only because they put all their best gear on one toon at a time. They dismantle everything else for free marks, mats, and glimmer. There is no "average" when an account has all of one class. You simply take the toon with the highest light level and that is their light level across ALL toons (since it is a simple gear swap to achieve the highest light level on all of them at any one time)! How do you not get that?

Edited by Dooodley: 11/4/2015 7:57:58 PMI've had one of each and three of the same. As long as you are somewhat active there's no significant difference in progression rate. And i might have worded it wrong in my previous post, what I meant is that people with one of each sometimes have a higher light level on each and every char than those who run three of each, despite them being just as active. Also, i think you're completely wrong about "three of the same" players only keeping one set, a "swap set". My chars have always had individual gear. Either way, you seem all riled up over the fact that not everyone wants to play the game the exact same way as you. Hell, I'm willing to bet that you almost conisder it cheating. At the same time you're totally disregarding the posssibility that people re-roll on a regular basis. Edit: after looking at your characterslight levels I'm leaning toward the possibility that you're salty because you don't have the time to keep up. You're not even raid eligible yet you're preaching as if you have some deeper knowledge of how things work. You probably havent figured out how to actually and easily get the crucial items. Once you figure that out you'll understand how easy it is to maintain three different classes.
-
I could care less if people go with all the same class. I'm just pointing out their distinct advantages. Even in your "reroll" example they have considerable advantage since they can optimize multiple build gear stats for one class only while getting all drops for said class type. The fact is that the ONLY real disadvantage they have is if a class specific glitch pops up and their class is not of that type.
-
Used to be a big deal, having 3 of the same, but that was when each class had separate mats, and before infusion. Now they're just denying themselves playing with each class. Their choice.
-
Edited by Roughneck: 11/4/2015 5:44:12 PMThere is still a big benefit to three of the same class. It's still the same as before other than mats. The ability to infuse dissimilar class armor has mitigated the benefit some though and I'd definitely prefer running three different classes. Three of the same is still more efficient though.

I think it's less about having multiple toons of same class for farming than it is of missing one of three useful class alts. Everyone should play all three classes for the experience and variety. Assuming you have time and motivation to play content 3x a week. Takes a bit more effort but worth it imo

Your dammed if you do damned if you dont. Used to have 3 titans played since day 1. So obviously they have raid stats, medal scores the whole 9 yards. I deleted one to make a hunter and another to re level a titan to do the raid again (I know I'm a loser, it was my day off). So now they have shit medal score and stats. Now it is, you suck bad medal score blah blah blah Before it was 3 titans blah blah blah Lesson learned:
The forums are retarded and need to grasp at anything to show they are better because end game pvp and pve is easy. Play a real competitive FPS game. Oh they won't because they don't there supers and unlimited special ammo. And would get shit on In a real fps, halo , CS go, blops
-
Or just don't care about competitive video games maybe idk I never really paid attention to medal score before I read the forums and lol at destiny pvp. It's not a pvp game and as you said supers make it a joke This was before the sun breaker crisis too. Joke before and now just laughable
-
Hey I am enjoying my overpowered super. Went flawless all y1 dealing with gunslingers, blade dancers, suns lingers and voidwalker. Quietly ignoring how low quality FoH was compared. Now it is my turn :) and I decide to make a hunter lmao. Still got my 2 titans tho
-
you are crazy if you think FoH was underpowered... invincibility and a mile wide shock radius...it was the most useful super in trials in year 1
-
Lol at the idiot everyone the statistics say other wise. By a large shot. Sorry man can't humor this stupidity.
-
you don't have to humor anything...what do stats have to do with it? just because more people used other supers or got kills with them doesn't mean its a weak and useless super...quit using old supers to justify one that is OP...anyone can attempt to bend a debate towards their opinion with whatever "facts" they want to use...I've won and lost many rounds due to someone using FoH...I don't care what stats you wanna throw out, I've seen firsthand how powerful it can be
-
Yeah I have a Titan I don't care about op supers but sunbreaker is out of control lol
-
I didn't know this.... however my titan will be over 280 come later this week
-
Yes sir
