To answer your question...yes I do play for fun...yet...well let me ask you a question....
You say "The gunplay is 10/10 and I simply enjoy doing the activities."...yet the gunplay was better in D1 making all D1 acvtivities fun to play....so do you not feel shortchanged in D2, and if D2 is 10/10 gunplay, what D1 is 15/10?
Frankly your post, while making a somewhat interesting observation, is quite telling really...

Nerfed player abilities, nerfed gun perks, small handling changes, character movement changes... If it feels exactly the same to you...I don't know what to say. Revisit D1 to see you are wrong.

Player abilities have nothing to do with the gun game and weapon perks are about the same with the appropriate Exotics & mods. Sure, I agree the pace of the game is different, but the actual gunplay is very much the same.
