Bungie looks at their usage data to determine what needs to be balanced...
The real problem, if it really is one, is everyone migrates from one thing to the next...
Bungie would not be able to see "OP" gear or loadouts, if we all tried new things often enough...
The forums rarely effect balancing...

Do you listen to the updates every week about hearing our "cries for help" regarding things that are OP?
-
I've read nearly every update, which is why I said "rarely" the Mida was another sad example of Bungie listening to "cries for help"...

because it was stupid at how much flinch that gun could cause. it was really really stupid. So very clearly the forums do have a good impact on balance.

Edited by Wasted Ellipsis: 9/12/2016 12:15:30 AMThe gun stayed the same up until the great "Nerf Mida" era...it only got noticed because it received a slight damage buff because of under usage... My point is valid... Over usage kills weapons, under usage brings them to life... Edit You can get any high rate of fire scout with high impact rounds and achieve the same flinch, but you don't see nerf _ posts because they are not used by the masses... Edit 2 I realize I'm helping to prove your point, but the issue is a mix of both of our points...I'm not arguing that you are wrong, but there is more to it than just crying nerf herders...

I, nor did anybody else say, that your argument was invalid. You can have your opinion but at the end of the day it is your opinion, it is neither right nor wrong.

I wasn't implying anyone did, just trying to further explain my opinion, and why I believe its true... I don't think I've been unreasonable in stating my opinion... I don't know if I got my edits in before you read it, but I stated that both of our opinions work towards explaining the issues with Bungies balancing strategy...
