Yes you can lol. What part of decoding the random engram don't yall get? Again: I'm not saying decode the specific item you want, decode the engram in front of that section. It will drop any of the things in that section. There are 4 random engrams you can decode: 1. Has both seasonal weapons and armor. Costs 1 engram. 2. Has only seasonal weapons. Costs 2 engrams and glimmer. 3. Has only undying weapons. Costs 2 engrams and glimmer. 4. Has only seasonal armor. Costs 1 and glimmer.

I believe in order to be able to focus it in any manner (yes even the random undying weapon engram) you have to unlock it first. Unless it was updated I also ran into this issue.

No, it doesn't. Once you start, the random engrams are unlocked, so you can focus those. You can only focus individual weapons after you complete the seasonal challenge. It's called weapon focusing. The armor one is armor focusing. After those are unlocked, yes, you need to have the piece dropped for you to focus it directly. To help with that, you can use the random engram, which can drop anything for that group. I'm telling yall what I know. I've done it every season this has been put in game. Speaking about this season, it's how I had all the armor for 2 characters; all but 1 piece for the 3rd character; all the weapons unlocked; and a bunch of red borders, before I reset riven.
