I get what you are saying... and it makes great sense...
But if we are not talking one shot kill weapons, I agree with you there.
Nothing worse than the old d1 sniper lane kd hunters that did everything not to fight.
My example was the luck in the chamber. A two shot kill on low ammo weapons. A give and take.
There is more than one version of skill. That is why destiny became addicting.
You can not define your skill as the all empowering skill. (Not said in a negative way)
I favor your view, I was just commenting on the fact that IF you want that larger player base back... you want things in the game that lowers the skill gap. This removes the need for skill based match making. This pushes bungie to focus more on counter builds and make this game fun again.
I 100% wish bungie would just create a purest PvP play list. Those that are focused on precision and strategic FPS mechanics. You know, OPTIONS.
Because you are not “wrong”, none of us are. The more bungie excepts that, the larger the audience.

I agree with a lot of that. Ultimately, I think Destiny pvp has just gotten too a point where we have so many powerful abilities and one shot weapons that players can almost sit back and let the broken weapons and abilities do the work for them. Maybe I should re evaluate my claim. Maybe a special ammo change wouldn’t bring more players into the crucible, but I think it would make for much more strategic gun fights and more communication with your team.

Exactly! Counters! If you go into a match and your opponents are using cheap builds/weapons... YOU should be able to counter those type of players with your in game iq. As of right now, you can not. Bungie, currently, just throws things in and then takes forever to change it. A skilled player in d1 knew how to change things up to face whatever they faced. There is nothing worse than running a fully cheesed out build only to be put in our place by a higher iq. < that was the addicting aspect. You can “kind” of do it now, but it is a sweat fest trying to do so.

Yeah for real. I find myself going against a person using a cheesy loadout, and I try so many different play styles and weapons, but nothing can counter them. That’s what discouraging. Because I know I’m more than capable of our gunning him, it just sometime proves impossible due to the load out they’re using. Btw I’m not trying to make it sound like I’m a God at pvp, I just know that I am above the average skill level and I find that the people that use the crutch load outs the most are low skill players finding ways to abuse overpowered builds.
