Do you remember the sleeper quest, how there was apparently a warmind on mars or venus (can't remember) that we didn't know about, maybe that's where they got the designs? Could be a warmind conspired with the fallen before the battle for the city took place. Idk. Destiny is so vague sometimes.

That's Charlemagne, warmind of Mars. His status is unknown. Rasputin was trying to stop the Cabal from poking around. Siva was a golden age development. The Iron Lords tried to utilise it but it backfired. They hinted it had something to do with Saladin and that he could have started a second golden age sort of thing. It was during the stream in the Divide. They were standing near the Siva outbreak.

Oh, haven't watched the stream myself yet, sorry. I want them to add quest lines that cover some of the grimoire stories. Even if they're short it'd help clear some mysteries.

Edited by Haffoc: 7/22/2016 10:08:01 AMThe winter cosmodrome is worth a watch. They didn't give away too much. The only other things was the Devil splicers are working alone, and they've scared the bejesus out of the Hive. I've got a feeling that isn't really going to happen until D2. Micro-transactions seemed to have changed things. There were 2 DLC's planned, 3 was Vex Void, and 4 appeared to be Cabal. They even hinted with the 'no time to explain' exotic with the word 'soon' Something happened internally and D2 got pushed back to September (I think) 2017, rather than end of this year. A head honcho at Bungie got the push(IIRC), and they also pinched the lead writer from Mass Effect Andromeda in Feb 16. I think they've realised they can't just keep going stringing us along with live events until D2, so Rise of Iron was done to fill the gap. They're using the opportunity to flesh out some of the tower and Earth lore, predominately Salaldin and the Iron Lords. I'd be surprised if another warmind turned up on Earth, as the lore gives the impression that Rasputin wouldn't have tolerated it.

I'm eager to see where bungie takes us all with destiny 2. Will we have all the same old areas with a bunch of new ones, like an mmo expansion, or will destiny 2 be an entirely new game, restarting the framework laid it in the first game?
-
I think it might be a whole new game, a little like Mass Effect. I believe the delay is in part to them creating a new or heavily revised engine, as the current one is pretty constricting. If it's new then our characters would likely carry over.

Edited by Ser Gimples III: 7/22/2016 10:17:42 AMI would hope, though it would probably be a good idea to force some guardians in the community to get over their old ways by starting fresh. I feel like bungie was in a tight spot with our current destiny. People left the studio, Activision is their boss, and they were trying to make an experience very new and unique, blending multiple genres into one glorious whole. I really hope they've learned from the past mistakes and make a truly memorable and breathtaking experience that can live up to all the fond memories I have of bungie titles in the past.

Edited by Haffoc: 7/22/2016 10:28:11 AMYeah, I don't hold with the conspiracy that it's just the old Destiny cut into pieces. I think people get hung up about the 10 year thing. It just means Activision are supporting them for 10 years, not that they got 10 years of game already written and designed which they are now just feeding out in drips. As you said, it's just a result of everything happening. Someone didn't like the original - presumably the chap who got dropped recently, so they had to retool the story and refactor things, which upset their lead writer. If they started new completely I think there'd be too many complaints. 'all that hard work blah blah' I think it'll be somewhere in between fresh start and everything carried over.
